This is for instructional purposes only! Using the template I got from that website, I used corel draw and the envelope tool to create the shape of the logo. As you can see, it is a messed up looking thing. I cut the vinyl and masked for the sandblaster. As you can see, the logo "looks" to be square on the glass. Kind of wonder what it would have looked like without the distortion. Guessing not good. Can't sell them, but wanted to use something simple for the experiment.

Nope, you can forget half of what you knew. Way to easy!

The CE5000 has been around since 2006, I believe the CE6000 came out in 2015.

There has never been a thing my ce5000 can't do for me. Seems to me, they added some settings to the 6. Nice to have, but I have never needed them. Cant say there would be any bad or ugly.

I agree 100%. It was my first attempt at the tapered glasses and figured the larger size would show me the template was in fact right. I do know that every time I put my glass down it gets a bit turned. So after a full drink you get the time lapse panoramic view. LOL!

again this post sounds like you are trying to adjust with the platen down - even in arizona cloth will have some moisture in it so pre pressing 5 seconds is always recommended lift the platen adjust your pressure higher and then lock it down - it should take some force to get the handle to lock down if you pre wash like my wife - we have soft water and she loads the soap - last comforter I rewashed 3 times without soap to get the residue out - buying from a shirt wholesaler will eliminate the need to prewash and you know they will not have any contaminates - if you have a tax license I use sanmar - before I got the license I used jiffyshirts

from your other post it looks like you are trying to adjust the platen with the press locked down - pressure adjustments are made before lowering the platen - if trying to adjust with the platen locked down you will never get enough pressure

Another thing is, where did you get the shirts? Some retail shirts have a sizing sprayed on them to make them display pretty that can interfere with adhesion. Another thing i should ask is ask is did you pre press to remove moisture before applying the graphic?

I would check the platen temp with an inexpensive ir thermometer and check several places on the platen for temp. Easyweed is pretty foolproof if you have temp, time and pressure adjusted correctly. With proper pressure you will actually see the fabric pattern in the have after pressing. Most of the time people find the temp is different than what the presses are reading

I charge based on a learned estimate of what I think it will take. In other words I estimate based on an hourly rate and give the client a hard price. He doesn't usually know what I want to make per hour just the final price and if it goes good I make more per hour. Most basic installs I figure a couple hours. Those job boxes will be time consuming possibly. Also be careful what you get yourself into because all the John Deere stuff is copyright protected without a release from an authorized dealer. If they ARE an authorized dealer make sure you get something in writing saying they are authorized to commission your work on the cut vinyl so you don't some day get your rear in a ringer.

Tip for the newbies - a grommet press (usually used for banners) works great for adding a smooth hole for a straw in a mason jar lid. something that many of us did a few years back. Then add vinyl or sand blast for personalized product. I thought of this when I saw the big mouth grommet press was on sale this morning

Is it freshly painted? Did you clean the wall first? If you did, with what? If you are sqeegeeing it, did you apply it wet? Depending upon the size of the decal you might lay the sqegee down and just use your thumb or a tennis ball. A sqegee is good on glass but not many walls are as smooth as glass. Cal

Recently I purchased a 15 x 15 clamshell heat press model FLHP 3802 , I believe it's working fine where time and temperature are concerned however we printed us few shirts with siser easy weed stretch vinyl after the first washing the vinyl started to peel off the shirts, the pressure mechanism of the press does not seem to hold the pressure any longer has anybody had the problem with vinyl peeling off their shirts or does anyone have this press and have encountered problems with the pressure mechanism any help or information about the problem would be helpful and very much appreciated thanks Personally I think I should be in the market for a new press. Which brings up a question what kind of presses are you guys using and what's the best kind of heat press and please keep in mind, I am a poor guy on Social Security and I only do this as a hobby and can't afford a $2000 press
