Primal Decals 621 Posted September 14, 2015 I wasnt sure where to post this under so forgive me,My girlfriend was looking for svg files for her cricut explore cutter since she does scrapbooks and cards and didnt have Ai or any other program on her computer to be able to see what svg file she downloaded except the names ,which made it hard when the files usually download saved as a number letter sequence etc. So i did some research and found this little free download which allows you to click on a svg file after downloaded,When u click the file 1 time it will show a preview of it in your windows file on the right(if you have preview pane enabled) I thought it was cool and downloaded as well and wanted to share just in case someone was needing as well. Just download and install and like it .. https://svgextension.codeplex.com/releases/view/118790
dcbevins 340 Posted September 14, 2015 I've used this for a good while now. Here is another that is useful as it can handle AI, PS, EPS, PDF: http://www.cherubicsoft.com/en/projects/sagethumbs. Ghostscript is required. The PDF support doesn't seem to work all that well however. I have found if you use Adobe Reader, go to File>Open and allow it to build the thumbnails, they "stick" in explorer view. Then just cancel and close without actually opening. One could always use a thumbnail viewer with svg support, like Xnview or XnviewMP, http://www.xnview.com/en/, which also need Ghostscript. My favorite thumbnail viewer is ST Thumbnails Explorer. It is getting a little long in the tooth, but still works great. It handles most every vector I can throw at it, included CorelDraw formats, (needs Draw to be installed.) It is commercial and for Windows only. It also uses Ghostscript.
