MZ SKEETER 4,717 Posted July 15, 2015 Great idea for the Keyspan Adapter, You did purchase the Tripp Lite brand, I hope. It is the only one that will work... That and a Belkin cable work with vinyl cutters. Like this.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Keyspan-High-Speed-USB-Serial-Adapter-Type-A-Male-DB-9-Male-USA19HS-Tripplite-/111647589631?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19feb704ff More info might help... What software are you using on what type of computer operating system? Did you follow the set up directions here? http://www.uscuttersupport.com/scseries-vinylcutter-setup.html

MZ SKEETER 4,717 Posted July 16, 2015 I don't know anything about Mac,,,Or Scalp. maybe someone else will chime in.. Or you could try the FREE week trial of Signcut. It is for a Mac. You can import your designs there and cut. http://www.signcutpro.com/http://www.signcutpro.com/
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted July 16, 2015 Is this a new machine? Have you gotten any communication to the cutter at all? What mac are you running? If you are trying anti-static it sounds like you are cutting but erratically. Static will only effect you if you are actually moving the vinyl in the cutter (Cutting) which creates the static while rubbing against the machine.

Jesse F. 7 Posted July 28, 2015 I would definitely call into Support and get a tech to remote in. On a Mac it's most likely two things. A driver that's out of date or a setting that hasn't been configured properly. Usually it's the BAUD rate that gives you the most trouble. I usually save the Keyspan as a last resort and more often recommend it when a USB port takes a crap. But call in, switch back to your regular USB cable, and I'm sure someone here can get you back up and running. If they get everything up to date and configured and it's still having issues it very well could be a motherboard issue. But leave that to the tech to determine. Good luck!
