Neuromax 97 Posted November 22, 2014 Your costs and time don't really go down with quantity however people usually expect discounts. For cut vinyl I discount very little for bulk order. I also wouldn't consider 10 eligable for a discount. That is still a realiativly small order. Don't cut youself short, Offer a decent and fair price up front and explain to the custoemr that your costs don't decrease with volume and the amount of time involved doesn't decrease. Wildgoose 4,193 Posted November 22, 2014 I don't fully agree with Neuro. IMO if you build one you have probably a minimum of 15 min into it. More likely 1/2 hour by the time you load a roll or scrap and start the cutter and weed it and tape it off. So for the sake of calculating lets say 1/2 hr of messing around on one piece. The vinyl cost is so small it's almost nil on one but because you will waste a square foot lets say its .50 and another .50 for app tape so your cost for one is 1/2hr plus $1 for materials. Call labor $20 which is low but easy. So $11 for one. Who is likely to pay $11 for one 7x4 decal? And you just made a whole whooping $10 for a half hour. Now if you make 18 of these and use a 24" x 24" piece +/-. You can still probably do it in the same half hour if it's easy weeding and you tape the whole thing and then cut it up. Your material costs could be up a little to say $4 (not really but for the sake of the argument) so now you have $14 for 18 decals and your cost is $0.83 and you can charge $4 which someone will pay and theoretically make 414% profit or $58 plus your whooping $10 for the half hour. didn't double check my math so could be off see signature See why volume discounts are real?
