Wildgoose 4,200 Posted April 16, 2014 Those are grit roller tracks where the vinyl has been run through the pinch rollers. I usually don't try to use the edges of the vinyl where it gets smashed except sometimes on HTV.
ShowMeCleaning 53 Posted April 16, 2014 Wild Goose, yes the rollers but whats causing the corners and letters to left??? This is scape for practice .
skarekrow 1,842 Posted April 16, 2014 If you are talking about the corners of the vinyl... they appear to be torn away. Could be a number of things. Dull blade, broken blade, wrong pressure, incorrectly set up balde tiny bit of vinyl in or around blade, (remove clean and lube) cutting smaller than the plotter can handle Low quality or old vinyl most likely has to do with the blade. FrznFire07 217 Posted April 16, 2014 when your cutter is moving fast as it tries to move around those corners the serifs tend to lift. how small are those letters? i'm guessing 1/2 inch? try backing off your pressure slightly and slow your speed a little. if you have one use a 60 degree blade. Wildgoose 4,200 Posted April 16, 2014 All of the above and you might have too much blade sticking out of the holder too.
mb20music 760 Posted April 16, 2014 Most likely it is the blade depth. To adjust my blade depth I take the blade holder out of the carriage. I run it by hand over a piece of the same type of vinyl that I want to cut. I keep adjusting until when I run it over the vinyl, pressing firmly but not too hard, it only cuts through the vinyl. Then I will put it back in the carriage.
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted April 16, 2014 I'm guessing blade depth combined with speed. Slow it down a little and a little less blade.
ShowMeCleaning 53 Posted April 17, 2014 Well thanks for all the help. I did slow it and also think it was the fonts I was cutting. Have not done it since. Thanks.
