Ravenwind / One Off Grafx 187 Posted April 6, 2014 I have to do a window for a repeater. They are supporting me this month in orders. The road is about 100 feet away, and it is the main hwy through Montana. The other issue is there parking is also in front where this goes. Flags on either side of the windows. the letters are about 10 inches tall the over all design is 24 x75". white with a red outline like the rest of there signage. I am thinking maybe a bit bigger and getting rid of the borders and butler.
security802 686 Posted April 6, 2014 Lose the border, but keep butler
skarekrow 1,842 Posted April 6, 2014 If the whole window's your to do, Do the whole window. Vinyl's cheap and Size+Readability works. I would enlarge the butler, create some asymmetry with him to the one side. Split the 2 lines of text, one at the top the other; bottom. Loose some of that white. Still 2 color but need to create some Depth or Dimension (stroke, drop shadow). Tie a new, custom 'Hours of Business' into the design. Maybe a slightly classier font than the comic sans look. Give them their Class & Sell up! (sorry, i just started typing and all that just sorta fell out)
skarekrow 1,842 Posted April 7, 2014 This is just in 1 color but demonstrates some of the above critiques. Oh... except for that drop shadow behind text.
Jay2703 704 Posted April 7, 2014 I agree with Scarecrow. Lose the border, keep the butler but use the entire window.
Ravenwind / One Off Grafx 187 Posted April 7, 2014 Really like the idea Skarekrow. Now to get a color that will pop out. The windows are always dark like in the pictures even if it is full sunlight. Also forgot to put on there that the window is 57" x 80" wide. Thanks for the input. On another note how did you get the sign out of the window Skarekrow? skarekrow 1,842 Posted April 7, 2014 You might wanna concider the dark colors if that white blind is generally closed. You can see how it compares to the white vinyl. skarekrow 1,842 Posted April 7, 2014 Just grabbed some empty blind area (dotted box) and duplicated it down the front, over your sign.

They don't like to turn the lights on. will try to get a pic of them open that may help on the colors. starting to like the darker look. Thought of adding some gold highlights. HDN 95 Posted April 7, 2014 The letters seem hard to read. Keep the large butler and start the letters at his legs and make them larger. He would be hanging over some of the letters. Just a thought
Ravenwind / One Off Grafx 187 Posted April 7, 2014 This all started over the other second hand store getting a banner like the one below. Bad thing is I do the work for both stores usually. No I did not make or sell that banner. Going to do my first banner this week though.
Ravenwind / One Off Grafx 187 Posted April 17, 2014 Thank you everyone for the help they went with this. They also wanted a few words added but they were really happy with it. So much so there is a short long window to the left of it they want me to use it for free advertising. Nice thing is it is right on the main hwy.
