joker 618 Posted January 26, 2014 Okay i have this lady that i have helped out before with vinyl. She has a cricut and is limited to what she can do.She sent me an image to see if i can design something so i did and she loved it. Well she wants me to cut the images for her restaurant windows with her vinyl. What would yall charge someone for doing that... I watermarked the image so she cannot just use it
GraphxNMore 282 Posted January 26, 2014 Vinyl is the cheapest part of most projects. It wouldn't be that much cheaper to use her vinyl.
joker 618 Posted January 26, 2014 Yeah im not gonna do it for free cause then it would become one of those things where she expects it all the time..
OWJones 1,981 Posted January 26, 2014 I'd be very leery about using someone else's vinyl. You have no idea how old it is, what temperature extremes it's been exposed to, etc. and you don't want to cut and install a job and have it fail quickly because they gave you cheap vinyl. If you are going to use her vinyl, make sure to put in your quote/invoice that you can't warranty the life of vinyl that you didn't provide yourself and make sure she signs off...
joker 618 Posted January 26, 2014 Good idea Owjones.. She stated earlier that she has a friend that will be installing it for her..So once i cut i am done but i will make her sign something..
mabscotthandyman 1,410 Posted January 26, 2014 You need to charge your time for design and cutting and weeding time my minimum hourly rate is $50.00 but that may be high or low depending on the local rates.
