gcextreme 475 Posted December 30, 2013 Ive got a customer that wants to know how well my vinyl would hold up on something hot, like an exhaust pipe kn a dirtbike, and intake headers and stuff on a truck engine...im not sure how well oracal 651 will hold up or what other vinyl would be better... Any tips or suggestions? Has anyone done anything like this before??
busterbay 326 Posted December 30, 2013 Melt point of about 158 degrees F./70 degrees C.Source: http://www.grafixplastics.com/vinyl_what.asp I would assume oracal 651 is similar.
OWJones 1,981 Posted December 30, 2013 Per the Oracal spec sheets (or the Oracal USA app available for iPhone and Android), the temperature resistance of Oracal 651 film is -40° F through +176° F. Oracal 751 is rated up to 230° F - ditto for Oracal 951.
