jpeffer 1 Posted November 11, 2013 I've got my art and everything appears strait. On smaller cuts, everything seems fine. The larger the cut, the more the cut lines get off though. I can cut this same image 3 times, and the cuts are off in the same exact spots, which leads me to believe it's an art related problem. Any help appreciated! turnedforgood 3 Posted November 11, 2013 I can't see the file as I'm on my tablet. Does the error repeat if you rotate the image 180 degrees

jpeffer 1 Posted November 11, 2013 Bad file needs alot of editing mark-s Just moving anchor points and paths? or more extensive than that? I did move some around, but the outline cuts still don't line up. I'll get a picture of the weeded cuts and post, might be easier.
mark-s 1,126 Posted November 11, 2013 From what I see it needs alot of editing. I don`t have time right now to fix it but mabye later today. Also save your files down to AI 8 so any program can open them. mark-s
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted November 11, 2013 put the file on wire frame and look at it. Zoom it, needs a lot of work, You should always put your file on wire frame, zoom it, and look all over it before cutting..

skarekrow 1,842 Posted November 11, 2013 That file is a mess... have you tried a different file and are you having the same problems with them ?
jpeffer 1 Posted November 11, 2013 It's really the only file I ever cut, other than simple text. Now looking closer at it, I can see its a very busy image and could be more simple. arty-rc 719 Posted November 11, 2013 Draw it out with your pen tool to save vinyl.
jpeffer 1 Posted November 11, 2013 Oh, when the file was made, I did have the designer send it in about 12 different formats. There is home print, pro print and web. Pro print files I can edit with illustrator, the others, not so much.

skarekrow 1,842 Posted November 11, 2013 If it's going on a white vehicle, I would edit it further for 2 layers of vinyl only.
skarekrow 1,842 Posted November 11, 2013 So here it is in 2 colors. I ditched the white highlights and made the phone number a reverse cut (to show the vehicle color through). You should take the svg file over in Inkscape (or Illustrator) and play with it as a learning tool for node work and editing layers. jpeffer 1 Posted November 11, 2013 Great! I did just test one, it's about 3x faster to weed that's for sure. The only spots it's off, are due to the vinyl cutter I feel. Basically where it stops cutting on say the "X" and it starts again to finish the "X" the 2 cuts don't line up. It's fairly easy to fix with a utility knife though.

jpeffer 1 Posted November 11, 2013 Tracking appears to be off even with a pen test, so going to tighten everything up on the cutter to see if that helps. I really only use white decals, I've never tried 2 colors!
