Best Setting to Save EPS for Photoshop

Recommended Posts

For some reason anytime I export into an EPS and then open it in Photoshop, it seems to be really jagged..

Anyone know the best way to make it a nice smooth printable shape?

Photoshop converts it to a raster graphic, hence the jaggies.

Only a vector program (Illustrator, Inkscape, Corel, etc.) will import/open in the original vector format.

Photoshop is a raster-based program.

Try exporting your SignBlazer file as a .jpg (make it as big as you feel comfortable with, maybe 3000 pixels, and Best Quality)

Why are you even going through Photoshop anyway?

SignBlazer can print your graphic directly

Not for printing, but putting into photoshop for business cards/ flyers, etc.

The SignBlazer export to .jpg feature probably uses a very low-resolution algorithm, since it's mainly designed for proofing to clients (letting them see what the sign will look like, but not allowing the client to have a high-res file that can be used for 'stealing' your design and going elsewhere for production)

Have you tried exporting as .pdf or .tif ?

Perhaps those will provide a cleaner image that you can work with for your flyers and cards.

Like everyone said, PS is a raster program but you can do what you want you just need to make the eps file larger. In other words if you want your final image to be 2"x2" in photoshop make the vector in a 12"x12" then open it in PS and resize it to the smaller image and it will keep the smooth lines.
