Metropolis Graphics 0 Posted September 9, 2013 I have a question for you experienced Flexi users. Will welding a cut Path prevent my cutter head from going up and down? Explanation: (as good as I can) I have an imported pdf that was created from a CAD program and I am trying to find a way to get rid of all the segments. The Image is a Gear. I tried to cut that last night but it turned out that it was impossible to weed. Thanks for any Help. Geometry.pdf
Monkey 252 Posted September 9, 2013 What was impossible to weed? Looks about as simple as it gets. What cutter?
jaybyrd 3,770 Posted September 9, 2013 I didn't open the file but I've run into it before, every section of line is seperate from the next and although they look good on screen the cuts never truly attach at the ends which makes weeding a nightmare. If welding doesn't work try converting the file to a jpeg and then perform a trace on that. I do this quite often to straighten out other peoples messes but to answer you question I can't see why it would mess up your cutter either way.
dwp99 283 Posted September 9, 2013 Give this a try. Open the file in Flexi, Click the file drop down menu and choose export. Export as a jpg and save. import the jpg, vectorize and cut it. You might have edit some nodes.
