MissFrida 0 Posted February 5, 2013 Hi ya'l, I am looking for the best vinyl to apply to signs I will be making for trucks. The signs will be mounted on the front bumper of the truck and the back bumper of the trailer for over size loads. The signs are 7 feet long and 18" tall. The vinyl letter will be black (it will be attacked to the reflective material which will be attached to the panel) and the letters are 12" tall, blocked and 2 brush strokes ( I hope that is the right way of saying it). Oracal 751 has been recommend to me. I just want to know is there other brands that are as good in quality as this one. Thank you all in advance for any info you can give. I am a newbie to signage and these simple signs are the only signs I will be creating. I make webbing cargo straps and I am adding the sign making to my existing business. Thank you and God bless,
Rodger 527 Posted February 5, 2013 In Maryland , you get a ticket if displaying oversize/overwidth signs when not permitted ( 1 way permit that is route specific ) . I have seen guys get tickets within a mile after unhooking from the overwidth vehicle . Most use signs that have hinges in the midle horizontally .
Dakotagrafx 7,297 Posted February 6, 2013 there are 3m products similar to the 751 - they are about the only premium I use - for standard vinyl I have some fdc but keep mainly oracal and 3m
