BannerJohn 1,324 Posted March 12, 2011 If you wanna make money on ebay, find something that nobody else is selling..or not many people anyhow. I only found ONE person on ebay selling this: http://cgi.ebay.com/BEAUTIFUL-HANDMADE-CASKET-ADULT-SIZE-COFFIN-/380321844229?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588cf2cc05 I have seriously thought about offering flames and other decals for this type of item. Rodger 527 Posted March 12, 2011 That is wild !!! Reminds me of western movies being made of wood . It needs another set of handles for 6 pallbeaers ( I have been a pallbearer where I wish there were more than 6 men ). I had an uncle who worked at a funeral home & have a cousin who makes cement burial vaults & digs the graves, puts up the awning , chairs etc & then lowers the coffin into the already set vault . Funeral homes up sale the coffins that are leak proof , etc . I don't think many if any funeral homes would let a family supply their own coffin . There any members who would want to be creamated instead of buried ? I will go out very hot 1 day .

The Funeral Rule Most funeral providers are professionals who strive to serve their clients’ needs and best interests. But some aren’t. They may take advantage of their clients through inflated prices, overcharges, double charges or unnecessary services. Fortunately, there’s a federal law that makes it easier for you to choose only those goods and services you want or need and to pay only for those you select, whether you are making arrangements pre-need or at need. The Funeral Rule, enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, requires funeral directors to give you itemized prices in person and, if you ask, over the phone. The Rule also requires funeral directors to give you other information about their goods and services. For example, if you ask about funeral arrangements in person, the funeral home must give you a written price list to keep that shows the goods and services the home offers. If you want to buy a casket or outer burial container, the funeral provider must show you descriptions of the available selections and the prices before actually showing you the caskets. Many funeral providers offer various “packages” of commonly selected goods and services that make up a funeral. But when you arrange for a funeral, you have the right to buy individual goods and services. That is, you do not have to accept a package that may include items you do not want. According to the Funeral Rule: you have the right to choose the funeral goods and services you want (with some exceptions). the funeral provider must state this right in writing on the general price list. if state or local law requires you to buy any particular item, the funeral provider must disclose it on the price list, with a reference to the specific law. the funeral provider may not refuse, or charge a fee, to handle a casket you bought elsewhere. a funeral provider that offers cremations must make alternative containers available. which is why Walmart sells them online http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_query=casket&ic=48_0&Find=Find&search_constraint=0

Rodger 527 Posted March 12, 2011 Hey Rodger..you can get some very nice URNS on ebay for under $100. The cheapest my funeral home had was over $300. Thanks for that info John . very interesting . I have seen from the sidelines how some funeral directors prey ( is that the correct spelling ) on the emotions of the heart broken . I am amazed to see Wal-Mart sells caskets . I like the Klingon philosophy .. the body is just an empty shell after death . After I seen what they did to my dad in the autopsy , I think there is much more honor to be creamated . I know my dad or me have never had make up on in life & neither of us want to lay in a casket with make up on . All just a frame on mind thing . EDIT : Thanks to Skeeter for posting that info . I had thought John posted it when I was replying .
