Cleared the driveway this morning, went out again @ 4:00 and didn't get finished until 6:30 and it's still coming down. Rob Law 0 Posted February 11, 2010 We have been on a cycle of rain, ice, snow, repeat.......and COLD. I was outside around 2 am at work Tuesday and it was 15 deg and 25 mph wind BBBRRRRRRR!
sarconastic 29 Posted February 11, 2010 The warmest day I can remember was back in December, and that was something like 37 for 1 day. Since November it has been below freezing 90% of the time. We have had solid snow cover on the ground since before Christmas. we normally get 27 inches of snow a year, we have now had 43. and way colder than normal. So much for the weatherman's predictions that it would be milder and dryer than normal. Kevin
Benr98 40 Posted February 11, 2010 We actually had sunshine today, which melted almost all the snow on the streets which sure helped. We have a chance for more of this 'fun' white stuff for Sunday night....COME ON SPRING TIME!
mabscotthandyman 1,410 Posted February 12, 2010 The evening news just reported that our town had broke the all time record for snow in a season of 104.1 inches with over a month to go. @ sarconastic the same here the last decent warm day was Dec. 8 2009 was 59 degrees after that cold and snow seems like every day. lynnpromotions 0 Posted February 15, 2010 After several weeks of rain, snow, hail, tornados, mudslides, etc. (what more is there?) we were at 83F yesterday. Very pleasant day. Forecast is for the week to remain the same.
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted February 15, 2010 ALL THAT GLOBAL WARMING FALLING OUT OF THE SKY!! New record set!! First time 49 states have snow on the same day.Its all that Global Warming...LOL Yes, it is. Global warming is causing huge chunks of the arctic ice shelf to break off, which cools the ocean...meaning it cools the gulf stream, which is what keeps most of the US from being a lot colder than it would be. Cooler gulf stream = colder weather in North America/ Most people don't really understand what global warming is, or what it does.
mabscotthandyman 1,410 Posted February 16, 2010 Every since this winter has been setting records across the nation the right wing radicals have been taking jabs at Al Gore and scientist that have warned of global warming effects. If anyone has read the data on global warming this is exactly what is forecast stronger storms and more frequent. I had not paid too much attention to it but begin to read up on this winter and was amazed at how close the predictions are from years ago.
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted February 16, 2010 The scarey part is, new research has shown that the last ice age came on in only 20 years or so, not hundreds like had been thought. And the right-wingers still think we have nothing to worry about.
hockeygirl 30 Posted February 16, 2010 We're hitting record high temperature out on the west coast... it was 73' yesterday... and normally, it should be in the 30s to low 40s for this time of the year. Need snow in Tahoe, otherwise, we're drinking sand this summer...
