GREAT PRICE ON 50 GIGS OF VECTOR ART

Recommended Posts

Just to let everyone know, I went to http://www.clipartandfonts.com/Free_Clipart.html and go to bundle packages.  On bundle #3 (Mega Pack 3) is ALL 50 gigs of vector clip art selling for $500, but there is a MAKE OFFER button.  I clicked on it, and made on offer of $200.00 for ALL 50 gigs, well they excepted it.  It ended up costing $205.00 with shipping.  That gives you all the rights for printing and selling all artwork.  If you haven't seen some of these collections then your missing out.  You can also download some free stuff off this website, but I wouldn't suggest selling the free stuff because of copyright stuff.

Again that site is http://www.clipartandfonts.com/Free_Clipart.html

From what I am seeing in their FAQ...you can use the free stuff, make things and sell, you just can't sell or give away the FILES:

Q: What am I NOT allowed to do with items downloaded from this site?

A: You are not allowed to resell, repackage, share, give away, or redistribute

our products in  any way, for free or sale. For instance, taking a skull,

recoloring it red, and uploading it to your website for your visitors to

download the original vector form, or even a high resolution image, is

prohibited. Basically you are not allowed to make available the original

source files.

Hopefully they will take it.  Not a bad price at all.  When I called him he was very nice and I made sure I would be able to sell his work.  He said I could do anything with it but sell the original file (or let anyone else have the file).  So basically I do vinyl decals, t shirts, and sandblasting and have all rights to the art for all that to sell.  Let me know if he takes your offer.

He had a massive sale recently, that was the Mega Bundle 3 pack... 299.00.  I bought it for 308.00 after shipping.

Got the DVD's in a small envelope, all had the same sticker/label on them, nothing marked to tell you what was on

them.  After a few hours of accessing them all and trying to catalog all of the images I received, it turns out that

quite a few of the files were blank, a few of the collections were repeats as well.

Admittedly, I still need to contact him to see about replacement discs, but with 50gigs of files its hard to go through

each one to see what works and what doesnt.

I also noticed this little bit of verbiage that is a little disconcerting, in the T&C's on one of the packages:

"

The contents of this CD or download image/package are proprietary and copyrighted by Cut Ready Clipart. All rights are reserved. When you purchase this Cut Ready Clipart product, Cut Ready Clipart grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use and modify the images on this disc in your personal and professional work which includes live presentations and printed materials such as displays, advertisements, promotional campaigns, brochures and newsletters, subject to the restrictions contained herein. The disc may not be copied in its entirety except for backup purposes.

2. You may not loan, rent, transfer or grant any rights to the images contained hereon, or any compilation, derivative or collective work containing such images to any other person or organization without the prior written consent of Cut Ready Clipart.

3. You are expressly forbidden from posting any image or images from this disc on any electronic bulletin board.

4. You may not use or permit the use of the image(s), or any part thereof, as a trademark or service mark, or claim any proprietary rights of any sort in the image(s) or any part thereof.

6. You may not use, or allow anyone else to use any of these images in any pornographic, libelous or defamatory use."

Now, I understand that this is mainly to keep you from ripping off their artwork, and

when I talked to Dan (I beleive it was Dan) he said that I was able to use the artwork

in my business logo and in the logos of people whom I do work for.  It just apparently

would mean that everytime I wished to do so I would need to email them directly for

permissions (contrary to the conversation I had with him on the phone, that resounded

the fact that I could do anything except for sell the files).

Did anyone else notice this, or have any issues with their art?

All in all, it is a pretty impressive package, I was dissappointed that so many of the

categories I wanted did not work, but I am certain they will replace them when I contact

them.  I was also deeply dissappointed that there were no Fonts included.  I misunderstood

that when I first called him and asked him if the Fonts were included, he told me to go

to the website and look under the collections and that would show me what all was included.

C'est La Vie.

Did anyone else get in on this sale?

Just a quick note,

All of my disc are Ok, but as mentioned above the were no fonts, I also was under the impression that fonts would be included.

All of my discs were find.  I printed out the PDF catalog on my duplex printer so it printed two sided.  It took about 150 pages, but I have the catalog with all reference numbers.  I also put all art on to a portable hard drive so all my customers have to do is look thur the catalog then I go to the file on the hard drive and sent it to my cutter.  Bam, $10.00 (depending on the size of course).

They also have a 320 gig portable hard drive for $99.99.  That's what I picked up and loading all my clip art on it.

Soooooooo........... Let me ask you, do you all everytime you want to use some of the clipart that you buy.....write and get permission, as you know if its not in black & white its not anything........and if it is in black and white it may be ify. Like if you use a Coka Cola logo.........you are to first call coke tell them and buy a license to use it....one time

Hope you all are a Legal as you sound........but with 50 years in business......I doubt it.......Oh and don't  use logo till you get license in writing........even if this means you loose the job........lets stay Good........since there are a million other signmakers that will

do it while you are waiting.......and I know well thats them, and some of you ........

I am not being smart but lets face it if all was perfect it would be nice, but since almost everything has been drawn or a fax to it.........its maybe hard to be always so orginial as not look a little like someone else work, its all beem done  in some form or another.....

Well, like I said, I explicitly asked regarding using some of the images in my logo for my business and for some of

my customers.  Then the legal verbiage seems to state the contrary.

I am more concerned I think with the fact that I had so many files that are blanks, and I paid almost twice what

some people paid, who got perfectly good art.  Oh well, I will see what they say when I contact them.

When I talked to him, he was very nice to deal with.  I don't see why he wouldn't make good on it.  If you need his number let me know and I'll send it to youl

I have dealt with this guy many times, been waiting about 2 months now for the last thing he owes me. Not sure what happened talked with him several times about it keeps telling me he will make good but never does. Use caution when dealing

FYI, i get the impression most of this stuff is not his images. Seen many of them around the net in other collections. Doesnt mean its not his but you really cant tell

Hmm... so it's a great collection, but perhaps some questionable origins, and not the best customer service.

So while there are gazillions of images, what percentage would you say that you would actually use for cut and sell decals and/or banners?

It does look like a great collection, maybe i will take there counter offer.  And yes there are a few images that I have seen on other sites.  They may not be the same, just similar as all one would have to do is change the design just a little and call it there own.

I have read the agreement and I'm not saying he doesn't claim the designs are his. Anyone can add anything to an agreement. I have had many good deals with him but this last one NO GOOD with no action but lip service.

I got my disc's today and am very happy with them. I will say I was a bit skeptical at first but kept sending him emails to make sure he got my $180 and then sent more till they were shipped. He is a guy of very few words cause my emails where answered in 1 to 4 word every time. But with that said the collection is great and everything that he said I would get I got. As for my bid of $175 that was taken and then others that have bid higher and not gotten it I am unsure of how he decides that. I would have figured that he would have had a price that he would go down to and everything lower wouldn't have been excepted. Everyone that bids on this just keep in mind that it is $5 for the shipping and the 60 collections are on 10 discs total.
