Need help please using Horizontal Path Text

Hi, I am using Flexisign Pro 8.1 and I would like to use the horizontal path text.  When I select that tool and then I click on my workspace to start typing, it says: need to click on a path or a figure with single outline.  How do I do that?  I want to type some text on a curved, bumpy line.

did you try just typing your text first?    Also for help on this,,  Go to top of your Flexi screen where it says help,  click it  then help topics,  you can search for horizontal path text...  it may explain better

I did try typing some text first, but it it didn't curve.  I did look at the help file but it says to click on an existing path or shape and I don't know how to do that.    Sorry, I'm still learning how to use Flexi, haven't had it that long.

try making a path first next to the area you want to type. with the bezier path tool
