biggin69 2 Posted March 8, 2009 I have been looking at different machines and software for several weeks now. I have saved up enough $$$ to make a purchase but I do not want to buy the wrong machine. I plan on doing vinyl for vehicles and R/C cars, trucks and airplanes. My question is this (I know it has been ask a bazillion times), what cutter do you all recommend (from US Cutter)? Thanks in advance for your informayion!
Guest fivestar Posted March 8, 2009 Graphtec if you have the $$$$
tservice 3 Posted March 8, 2009 We have a refine mh 1351 and a pcut 24. Both are great, but I seem to like the refine alittle better. Only because our pcut only has usb connection, I think they have changed that now.
Guest fivestar Posted March 8, 2009 I have 2 Refines and love them, but my next purchase is a Graphtec, don't know if I "need" it but I want it.
biggin69 2 Posted March 8, 2009 I have been leaning towards a refin.
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted March 8, 2009 go for the refine.Use the $1000 that you saved by not buying the graphtec to buy supplies, etc. In a year or two, if you see that you are making money, buy the graphtec. Personally, I started out with a graphtec. Sold it,bought a cheaper cutter, and enough supplies to make about $5000 in profit. My Both of my cutters will do anything a graphtec does and just as well. biggin69 2 Posted March 8, 2009 Ok, here is what I about to order: USCutter MH Vinyl Cutter 33" with stand http://www.uscutter.com/USCutter-MH-Vinyl-Cutter-_p_25.html What software should I get? SignBlazer Elements Full-Functional Trial (Does not expire - Recommended) SignCut X2 - 3 Year Subscription [+$30.00] Flexi Starter 8.5 (with Dongle) [+$90.00] And is the Oracal 24'' * 10 Yard - 12 Color Set ($279.99 value) [+$269.99] option worth it? What Oracle vinyl is it and what colors? Is that 10 yards per color? Should I order from US cutters site or buy from them on Ebay? I will be ordering as soon as I get some good responses. Thanks for such a great site.
JoeDirt 5 Posted March 8, 2009 When I first started out I made the mistake of just ordering colors i wanted, I would get black, red and white to start with then order as needed.

biggin69 2 Posted March 8, 2009 I was informed that the refine line does not do contour cutting. I did some research and think that this may be something that I would like to do in the future. Now what?

biggin69 2 Posted March 9, 2009 I cannot afford a graphtec right now. I also have leaned away from contour cutting (maybe in the future). This is what I have narrowed it down to. Which would you recommend and why? http://www.uscutter.com/view_cart.asp Also, should I get the Sign Blazer or Sign Cut software? Thanks again for all of the helpfull info. This is a great forum!
