Lazer on LP no longer showing up.

When I first turned on the LP24 the lazer lit up and was there for awhile. After a couple of test cuts the lazer went away and I have not seen it again. I am not currently using the lazer but want to make sure its not broken for future use. Does it only begin to function again when I tell it to. If so how do I tell it to.

I have only had the cutter for 4 days, new out of the box.

Sorry for the bad news but I think it is on all the time.  Mine is on all the time and I don't think you can turn it off.  I may be wrong.
