Is it possible to Build a heat press

Recommended Posts

Okay, so i'm cheap, but has anyone built their own heat press?, i see, hundreds of new ones on sale here and on ebay everyday, but I always love the felling of building my own stuff, like the big squeegees n such, so has anyone built one if so, where do you get the parts for such a project ?

yes,it is. I built one about a year ago for $50 or so in supplies and it worked great. Gave it to my brother. He says it still works great.

You need to be pretty handy with tools....not a Norm Abram but able to cut straight and true.

I have on of those pancake griddles but its tough cause it has a curve in the center I know you can put more pressure on it but it still was inconsistent. If I didn't buy a new press I would've tried the oven trick that was posted on here.

let us know,and post pics!

You could have left the lip on,as long as the pad area was smaller.

I'm glad you made one, BUT I would be scared to death to press shirts and sell them using it.  Wash that shirt a few times and see if the vinyl stays on good.  Not saying it won't, but that would be the test.

yeah,let us know. I still have a few shirts I did with my home-made one and I reckon maybe 20 or so washings with no problems.

Hey Primal, will you share the WG Harley skull in the background of this pic. I have a guy bugging me for one.

For the press, I like it. Show it to George Forman, make milions  :thumbsup:
