Im pretty new to all this, but this was a pretty cool project I got to try out for someone. I made a flag on AI (New to that as well), distressed it and divided it into two sections, one for each pane of glass. It was cut out of 751 Matte Black. Vinyl was super easy to weed, but my real problem was with my medium tack xfer tape. It took 3 prints and a lot of swearing to get it right and there are a couple spots im a little unhappy about, but no one knows but me! For the one I'm going to put on for my client, I think im going to try a high tack tape, then wet apply it and wet down the tape before removal to hopefully loosen the adhesive a little. I have a few other people interested in having these mailed out, so I'm trying to come up with the best way to ship them out. Im thinking in a rolled/triangle mailer with instructions, a small bottle of rapid tac and a squeegee. Perhaps I'll sell the install equipment as an orginal upgrade? Any ideas would be appreciated!

I use Greenstar Clear Tape High Tack for 651 Glossy but am getting ready to use quite a bit of Matte. Is there any difference? Will the Clear Tape High Tack work ok?

Is there Vinyl out there that doesn't put off a shine when printed on using a Roland Versaart re-640
jamiejones78 posted a topic in Vinyl
Hi Everyone, We're starting a photography back drop business and are using a Roland Versaart re-640 using echo solvent ink, printing on 13 gage vinyl material. The problem we're running into, is that on our darker colored back drops there is a substantial shine and glare. We don't want there to be any glare on the back drops, because the glare shows up in the photos, and combined with the camera flash will blow out the photo. Any help would be appreciated. New to using the machine and pretty green.- 8 replies

What Profile and settings are best for making vinyl looking as flat as possible.
jamiejones78 posted a topic in Roland Printer Support Requests
I'm trying to make our vinyl backdrops as flat as possible. I'm using profile "Vinyl 2" and have the ink consumption set at 100-125. It's the flattest finish I've gotten so far. Wondering if anyone knows a better profile with better settings for a Roland Versa Art RE-640 ?
