Graphtec CE5000-60 Firmware Issue?
hkarns712 posted a topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I have a Graphtec CE5000-60 cutter that we have used without any issues for the past 5+ years. A few weeks ago I got the message: FLASH NV ERROR, I did some research and called Sign Warehouse and they helped us order a new motherboard. My husband installed it per their directions and we got the message: LOADER V5.30. I followed the directions on the Graphtec website to install the firmware and drivers per the CE5000-60 manuals directions. The version of firmware that is on Graphtec's site is v6.40, do I need to try and roll my firmware back to the version that my Graphtec screen is stating, because my screen now states: PLEASE SEND PRG. I have sent the firmware according to the directions and I have done numerous restarts of both my computer and the cutter. I have done the up arrow while restarting the cutter, I have also pressed the right and left arrow at the same time I was restarting the cutter. Any advice would be appreciated!- 10 replies

I've never used a vinyl cutter in the past, we have a Graphtec CE5000-60 in one of our other departments and I am hoping to be able to use it to make some stencils for spray painting. The team that uses the machine is uncertain as to the best material to use for this application and they only have basic adhesive backed vinyls in stock, as that is all they use it for. I would appreciate any guidance as to an appropriate media to make a re-useable stencil. Thank you.

I have run a graphtec ce5000-60 and WinPcSign 2012 for the last year with no issues. Now suddenly any design I send the cutter just continually feeds the material thru and cuts nothing. I've tried re-installing the program and the graphtec drivers and restoring my system and nothing is changing. I've been down for two days now and am completely clueless as to how to fix the problem. Someone please help!

I am a fairly new user, bought the Graphtec CE5000-60 less than 2 months ago. I use both intermediate vinyl and heat press vinyl (Stahls Thermo Grip, Stahls SportCut Lite) I have been changing my settings as outlined in the quickstart guide that came with the cutter, setting it to 0 offset and 14 force for the intermediate vinyls and stahls sportcut lite, and changing it up to +5 offset and 20 force for the thermogrip which is a fairly thick vinyl. Everything was going pretty well, until a few days ago. it will start cutting fine (at either setting) and before it is finished with the image (doesn't seem to matter if it's text, simple graphics or finely detailed graphics) the pressure will not be enough to cut through. I am getting about half of any image (even small 2" x 6" cuts) you can see a ghost of the image but that's it. I am running cutting master 2 on the illustrator plug in. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hello , I am very new to the Vinyl Cutting world. I have just purchased a Graphtec CE5000-60 and have a Mac OSX version 10.7.3 and I am running CM2 (Cut masters 2) on CS5 (adobe illustrator 5) I have been able to load files into the the CM2 plugin on CS5 but when i send the job it will say "holding" and then the machine sounds like its going to start up but then the status light just starts to blink and never cuts anything. What am i doing wrong? I still have not figured out how to cut at all. I have pushed the test cut button and it works just fine PLEASE HELP Kolby
