Hey Ken, do you know if Signblazer will work with windows 2000?
-

I've never had an actual hard drive go bad, only a windows crash. In which case, I immediately install a NEW hard drive, take the old one and install as a slave and recover the files I need. Could be possible to do it that way. Or you could TRY a windows repair, though I have never seen it work. AS for an actual hard drive going bad, The people at Signblazer seem very nice. I am sure if you could offer some sort of proof, they would work with you. There is one other solution, which I will PM to you tater. It can be a bit tricky and don't want to give any computer newbees any ideas.

I finally was able to contact Jerry at Signblazer in Australia, and there is a way,and here it is...right from his own answer: "If you have not lost your "software serial number" then what you do--- to move to another computer is simply uninstall it ----while the computer is connected to the net. (notifies us to allow another installation). Then use the same "software serial number" again to install it and register it and a new activation code is emailed to you immediately." And there it is,just that simple. I knew there had to be a way.

From what I understand, SignBlazer should only be installed and activated on one computer. He could swap the hard drive over to his new computer to run it, or you could buy another copy for each computer you need it installed on.

Here is the verdict on pricing: For SignBlazer Elements locked to machines that we sell (current and future), initial pricing will be $70 (subject to change). If you purchased a machine from USCutter before, we will probably offer special pricing of $60 (also subject to change). Download the trial from this link: http://blazertech.net/downloads/elements/USCutter/SBEforUSCutterSetup.exe Learning guide: http://www.blazertech.net/downloads/LearnGde.zip Come back and let us know what you think.

I think we are gonna sell SignBlazer Elements for about $60-$70, much less than you see online.

Is there any tutorial or visual guide to SignCut???
TaterNuts replied to JoeCamaro's topic in Signcut
sign cut is lacked on features... I suppose that you are looking for editing and design features in this program... Well, there really is none, its just a simple cut program... You need to use a diffrent program for your design and editing needs. The free one is Inkscape. There are also other programs that support vector graphics that the plotter can read... Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, WinPCSign, FlexiSign, SignBlazer... just to name a few... There pretty much all diffrent programs, so some people may catch on better to others then another. -
I had the exact same thing happen with SignBlazer and my refine. First day it worked, next day nothing. I tried every com port until I found one that worked.I think that there was a conflict somewhere.Try every com port,1,2,3,4...every one. If that doesn't work, look in your computer device manager and see which com port is listed. You might have to change the actual number of the com port on your computer. Ken might be of more help, once he comes in tomorrow. But I figured mine out just by playing around with it.

SignBlazer, Flexi or WinPCSign

I also was chosen... Banner is Right, This program is awesome... Excellent choice for the beginner as well as even possibly the advanced sign maker that doesnt want to pay the high cost of flexi... Features, Features, Features... SignBlazer is an ALL-IN-ONE design and cutting program. Here are some of my favorite features. Distortions... Ability to change lettering style to pretty much anything, Arc, Arch, Perspective and more Shadows. Another great feature, simply select your text, click shadow and done! Skew... ability to slant text in any direction... And this program includes hundreds of pre-drawn shapes like logos, signs, trademarks, etc... Something that i have never seen INCLUDED with any other sign program I could probably go on and on about all the features that this program offers. There is one thing that I dont really care for... Only one tool bar at the top... With WinPC or Flexi, I can put toolbars anywhere, for like justification or centering or what not...On SBE, there is only a scroll at the top to take you thru the pre-configured features. But honestly, this is really no big deal, just something that Im not used to... Im just glad we can talk about this program now... I opened the file when i got it and within 5 mins i was AMAZED of the ease of use... I will no longer reccomend WinPCSign for any 'beginners' out there, Its solely going to be SBE!!!

Sign Lab 5l.0 and Refine 721 Problems
TaterNuts replied to signboy's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
i am not familliar with that program but I can try to help... you stated that you changed the com port in signlab??? do they match what Sign Cut uses? check the baud rate in signlab, Refine defaults at 9600 baud... If the sign lab program trys using a diffrent speed it wont work... change sign lab to 9600 baud... Goto www.cadlink.com, unless you already have it, Download the Redsail, RS720 plotter driver... and give that a shot... it worked for my signblazer elements program -
Ok, so if I understand it right...SignBlazer would replace signcut?? Would I still use my CorellDraw? From the description on the website it looks like it does way more than signcut, but does it take the place of both signcut and a graphics program like CorellDraw? :-

Sign Blazer Elements is SO user friendly... It is so simple to operate and best of all, it has the design and cut features all in the same program... No more exporting from InkScape To signcut... I normally always recomend WinPCSign, However... SignBlazer is alot easier to use! and has just about all the same features as WinPCSign. Flexi is still the best i would say... More for the advanced vinyl cutter. and last, AND LEAST... SignCut...

Geez...Up until now I've had no regrets purchasing a CP-2500 with SignCut. But after reading all the hype about SignBlazer I can't help but feel a little remorse.

Sign Blazer....Rolls Royce SignCut....Pinto (if you are old enough to remember) Signblazer is as good as any software I have ever used and the BEST for a beginner. Period. Tater said more than I am gonna say because he said it all. And to be honest ( my mother wouldn't let me lie) US cutter has the BEST SUPPORT,hands DOWN, of any seller I have ever dealt with . KEN is the hardest working tech guy in the business, and probably would come to your house if you paid his expenses. Message to US cutter owner...whatever you are paying Ken,it isn't enough. He is your best asset, with Marcus being next.

Did you buy the machine from us? I don't have access to our orders database at the moment, but we haven't sold Artcut in a very long time. I have no love for the program.... We are probably going to start selling SignBlazer for $60-$70 if you are interested in better quality software. You can download a trial at: http://www.colorchromefirst.com/s2q/intdemodwn.htm

I guess that I have sort of let the cat out of the bag on this one. For those of you who have been trying it out, you are free to discuss.... We are now bundling Signblazer, and for anybody that is not using Illustrator, Corel, or a Mac, I honestly think it is the way to go. As far as the question regarding differences between our other models, I think the description is accurate. Parts quality and design of the PCUT are certainly of a higher caliber than the Refines. Our failure rate on the Refine models has been relatively high, and while I assumed that over time, the manufacturer would implement a quality improvement process, it seems that they are simply interesting in figuring out how to produce more machines. As such, I went out in search of a better product. The PCUT line while not perfect, is a very mature product and has a strong reputation. I always assumed that the pricing would be in the same ballpark as our Copam machines, but after probably 100+ hours of negotiating, we were able to get our pricing down to a reasonable level.... While still higher than the Refines, I would suggest that anybody considering a plotter purchase only chose between the PCUT or Copam. Now with regard to the Copam, I am going to stick with what I have been saying all along. The Copam is THE MACHINE for professionals. It is much sturdier and heavier than ANY import plotter. It was engineer by Tiawanees rather than Chinese and quality was chosen over price. I am sure that anybody that is using a Copam will atest to this statement (please feel free to chime in)!

We will also have a new program which is ALOT more user friendly than SignCut and InkScape available in a week or so. It is SignBlazer Elements, and does graphics and cutting all-in-one.

These files really stump me... Your files I can open in SignCut... I can open them in Illustrator... I can open them in Fliexi... However, I cannot open them in InkScape? I export the files in a diffrent format like AI... Still, cannot open in InkScape... No format that Flexi has provided me or WinPCSign has provided me allows these files to be opened in InkScape... However, Saving as a SVG file in Adobe Illustrator allowed me to open in InkScape... Now, Saving it as an EPS file so that SignCut can open it is near impossible as when I open the file in InkScape, It doesnt allow me to edit to the EPS format that SignCut can read... So yeah, my computer is kind of laggin, as I had all these memory intesive programs running all at the same time, WinPCSign, Flexi, Adobe Illustrator, InkScape, SignCut, SignBlazer Elements. Well, I suppose that I could go ahead and rasterize each and every image, then re-vectorize it to a format that all these programs can read... But that Is pretty time consuming... If I have some free time later in the week I might just do it. Sorry I couldnt of been further assistance to you
