  1. This cutter Titan 3, has True USB. It should be connected Direct USB. Titan 2 and Titan 3 both have TRUE USB. Restart your computer, after the driver downloaded. Possibly try a different cable.
  2. The $50.00 "CUT" version of VM is the entry-level. (The 'trial' or 'demo' version mentioned by Haumana above is offered for download to explore the features and interface, but is cutting-disabled). You asked about choosing between SCALP and VM, and I gave you an answer (my opinion). Illustrator is a fine design program, to be sure. Just as Inkscape can also be utilized for vector graphics, it's up to you regarding what application to work within while putting together cuttable files. If all you need is a functional way to get that cutter to work/communicate, then SCALP is sufficient (once you sort out the COM issue). I'm not a graphic designer. My work consists of text-based signage, single color lettering primarily, for banners, vehicle door magnets, window decals, job-site signs, simple things like that. My primary way to get my work accomplished is through an old software (that used to be provided with all US CUTTER machines) called SignBlazer Elements. I dont think you have a 'driver' problem, you likely have a COM selection problem.
  3. @MZ SKEETER Hi, no I did't see an option to download the driver in SCAL 5 during or even after installation process. I looked up some directions on the uscutter site and they had scal 4 which did include that in the menu help tab. But even then, when I looked at scal 4, while it showed Titan's none said Titan 3. I have the cutter on and vinyl loaded and top roller down.
  4. Hi all, I just purchased a Titan 3 28" cutter. I am currently trying to figure out which software I want to use. VinylMaster or Sure Cuts Alot. When I install SCAL, and then connect the cutter and then check to see if SCAL can do a roller test nothing happens. I manually selected the cutter in the settings Nothing happens when I do the test roller function

    Let’s see those small shops!

This space used to be a guest bedroom, and we had a bed in there for visitors, but a few years back my son went and got hitched to a lovely lass, and they live with their 3 children in their own place. His old room is now the spare accommodations set-up, and this basement level has become the sign factory. When the children come over, the first thing they want is grandpa to make them some "stickers" and it's my pleasure. I let them choose an animal from the SignBlazer clipart Library, and select a color from the vinyl rack. That vinyl rack is actually quite empty, with only red, black, white, blue and a bit of Kelly green, with a few feet of grey and beige leftover from something I had worked on years ago (not too much call for grey and beige when making signs, so those scrap pieces just sit there). This rack is the standard of the industry.
  6. A robust 'vector engine' is included with all versions of VinylMaster. In fact, although I don't use VM as the default design/cut application with my USCUTTER machine (SC2) there have been plenty of instances when I needed a raster graphic to be converted into paths, and VM does it really well. (Inkscape also provides a convert-to-path function, but the one in VM is just so easy and clean, it's my go-to when SignBlazer chokes on the vectorize effort). Where did you see information that the v5 upgrade has eliminated the vectorization scheme? I find it hard to believe that critical element would be removed from VM, even at the 'CUT' (lowest) level program.
  7. I've been running vinyl master cut v4 for 5 years on my Titan 2 machine. I see that v5 is out, but it looks like the vectorize feature doesn't exist anymore? There's so many versions and the pages don't really explain what they come with very well. I do need vectorize, and don't want to "upgrade" only to find features missing.

    Seiki 870T Password

Did you download the FTDI driver for your version of windows? Extract and install it? It should be a com port number. Then you match the com port number in your computer device manager to com port number in cutting software. They must match. Old software does not matter, My Flexistarter software is from 2008. I use it on my Graphtec daily. Many people still use Signblazer which is abandonware. I still run on an XP laptop, many people do, as it is stable software. Some companies call vinyl cutters "printers", but they do not print, there is no ink. Lose the word printer. The password info you will have to get info from Seiki.

    Download SignBlazer

I hate to restart a necrothread, but recently someone wrote me saying that they couldn't locate a download of SignBlazer anymore at USCUTTER archives. This is true, since USCUTTER cannot promote or support that program, as they have a perfectly fine cut/design software with VinylMaster (and also SureCutsALot, that works with macintosh). However, in the interests of those who still prefer the SignBlazer interface, or just want to play around with it, here is a link to the installer ------ keep in mind it has an internal 'crack' scheme for the elimination of the nag screens, so it shows as a danger/trojan/virus to many security algorithms, alhough it's not actually a problem at all and does nothing to 'infect' your computer. http://www.thebuttontaylor.com/sb/signblazer7_setup.exe

    ROLAND CUT STUDIO

You might want to consider unlocking your caps key. Thanks. P.S. -- Run your Roland with SignBlazer and it'll work just fine.

Where are you located? There is a section on this Forum for selling ("Buy Sell Trade") although shipping a cutter and supplies usually is quite costly, so a face-to-face transaction is preferable. To answer your question, SignBlazer Elements is all that's needed ---- it's abandonware, and can be obtained from several dowload sources as offered in the SignBlazer section. (runs on windows all versions, from Win95 onwards). SBE will do both designing and cutting, it's software that was shipped along with all USCUTTER machines for years, until the developer, Jerry Bonham, passed away, sadly. Jerry used to participate in these discussions himself, and you can actually go back into the archives of posts and read his stuff and see the passion that man had for the cutting community. I was able to get into this business due to his brilliance in producing a program that any newbie can figure out quickly. Just out of curiosity, why are you getting rid of your machine?

    Help Identifying Vinyl Cutter

With SignBlazer, you shouldn't have any trouble.
  15. I added the box and the S and O touch but the T U D I do not. When I cut the text on my titan I only measured the T by hand (because it was the easiest to measure) and it measured 6.0 (like I had set for the physical size). I did not measure the other letters. So I did just now since I see they are not touching the box on the screen. The TUDI are all 6.0 but the S and O are both 6.2. So I guess if I wanted the largest letter to be 6.0 I'll set that on the left side knowing that the smaller value on the right will only be for some of the letters. I just didn't think by using all caps that there would be a difference in the letter height. Thanks for the help.
  16. @darcshadow I don't think it's a scaling/calibration issue, because if I cut an image, say a square and I set the height and width to say 4.1, my titan cuts it to exactly 4.1x4.1. This only seems to be an issue with text, where I have to enter the height I want into the PHYSICAL size box, rather than the size drop down that is on the left side. And while that is not a problem per se, it's just that I have no way of knowing the exact width unless I actually cut it. So when I set the physical height of the font to 6, and it shows the selected object (value on left) as 6.2H and 31.027 W and my cut comes up just short of the 31.027, I do believe that to be an accurate (calibrated) cut, because it's actually cutting according the the 6, and so of course it won't be 31.027 wide, because the 31.027 value is based on a height of 6.2. My cut came to 30.93. Which for personal use, I don't care if its 30.93 vs 31.027, but when I am sending a proof to a customer and say its 31.027, it can't be 30.93. Hope that wasn't confusing. Bottom line, when I cut a shape, the titan does cut to the exact measurement I have entered. This is only a problem with text.

Eh, whatzzup, dach? (doc) Why not just reinstall SignBlazer -- the non-nag version that shows as V7 after install (HELP menu/about) that Rich has kindly provided (linked a few posts above). The Library (DRAW menu) is one of the features that I've always loved about this program. It has a collection of cut-ready graphics that constantly lets me complete designs with just the right accent or flourish or visual item that matches whatever sign I'm making. I once had the opportunity to even insert JesusChrist into an Easter Sunday placard for a church (along with one of the nice mason crosses). Yeah, that Library is filled with surprises, thanks to Jerry, who placed an assortment of things in there which are really, really useful to signmakers. I encourage people who utilize another design/cut program to install a copy of SBE just to have access to the Library! (once you drag a choice from the Library into the pink-outlined design space, just Export as .eps and then Import to your other application to use it as you need)

I still use Signblazer, as I no longer need it for business purposes, just personal. My hardrive failed last year so I had to install a new one, and used a backup to restore all my data, but it appears the Library did not install. I just realized this today, as I normally create my own graphics, but I needed an arrow so went to library. It shows all the symbols, but none will activate. Any ideas?
  19. I know this thread is for criticism and complaints however, I have to relay recent experience. I had some issues with mt Titan 2 (out of stock part needed) so I found 2 P-cut 630's and alike new laserpoint2 on craigs list. The gut bought all from US Cutter. Negotiated price of $150 for all 3. Drove 90 miles and picked up the cutters. Long story short. Contacted US Cutter customer support, since I couldn't seem to get them going. They called me back within about an hour and in no time, had everything up and running. My $.02.... they are GREAT. Shortly after got the titan2 part and now it's running like new . Happy, Happy, Happy!

RIch, that was nice of you. It's good to have a URL that's stable for the download, since as you see in this 14-page thread, over the years so many hosts have come and gone. Between the one you just linked and that MediaFire repository I've created, they should stay available for a while to anyone requiring the program. I noticed you renamed the file to "7" which is smart. Although it shows up as v.6 during installation, after it's opened, the HELP/About menu will refer as v.7.0.0 which was added by whoever applied the 'crack' to get rid of the start-up screens. As far as copyright, it was held by Jerry Bonham (R.I.P.) under his company ColorChrome PTY, Ltd., which no longer exists. Back in 2009 there was some talk about legal wrangling for those rights, but AFAIK, nothing ever came of it. As noted in my post, the biggest problem people will face when trying to download & install is their antivirus getting alerted. It's not a "trojan" or harmful, but it will appear like the kiss of death to those danger-scanning softwares. You may be accused of trying to spread a malicious file, although that's not true. That is the #1 issue with doing what you're doing, and it may even be the answer why USCUTTER stopped hosting the installer. Anyway, good to see ya, and yes, I recall you from way back! I've been around here for a decade now, when I first started my signmaking career with SignBlazer, and still use it.

All these years I've never understood why noone simply hostedthe signblazer file on their web site? Maybe I'll find out soon.. Anyway, I've decided to give this a shot. I uploaded the file to my site and tried a test download. Worked fine. So, as long as I don't get into some king of trouble or other grief, it can be found here: https://www.bearlycomputing.com/signblazer/signblazer_setup7.exe It will be there until I getinto trouble, am told it's illegal, or causes too much traffic onthe site. I hope this helps some folks. And, yes I'm stll alive if anyone cares or remembers me? I read here almost every day, helped keep my pandemic sanity... I just can't post from my computer for odd reasons... Rich..

USCUTTER has disabled their directory/archive containing the SBE software and the user manual. The company has a business arrangement with supported VM software (as noted by Mz. Skeeter above) so they've decided that offering a 'Free" program for download is a conflict of interests (and may even be a contractual violation with regards to FutureCorp., the maker of VinylMaster) Anyway, I do not want to continually keep attaching the .exe download to a multitude of posts and clog up server space with it on these Forums. For one thing, if USCUTTER doesn't desire to offer it, then by extension, this is their domain, and I have no intention of going against their wishes, whatever their rationale is for making that decision to pull it from accessibility on their support pages. Secondly, the installer file itself is problematic from a purely technical standpoint, because of the code it contains to bypass the Registration and "Nag" screens at startup (since there's no way to register it, someone 'cracked' the installer file to bypass the countdown, but as a result, now the file will show up as having a "trojan or malicious code" when it's inspected by Windows Defender or 3rd-party antivirus protection schemes). In other words, people who try to download or install SignBlazer will encounter a warning not to do so, because of the way that file now reads as a threat. If you are still willing to obtain a copy of SBE, and understand all of the forementioned, then go to this post wherein the file was attached and can be accessed (34MB). EDIT: The file will not be allowed to be attached within a posting here on this Forum server, it's too large. Let me try to offer it using MediaFire. https://www.mediafire.com/file/fjk69hgu2cpnr16/signblazer_setup.exe/file Hopefully that works for you?

Hi, I'm struggling find a software download for Signblazer. Is it possible for someone to share me a copy please? Thanks Alan
  24. You should be able to export the file as an .eps file. Change the drop box at the bottom of page in signblazer export to Encapsulated Postscript ( .eps). Export it to documents or where ever you save your files. Import into VM.
  25. Wow, this is strange, SignBlazer is vanishing from the public domain. As abandonware, it's not supported and USCUTTER has apprently decided to no longer host the file. The 34MB installer cannot be attached here, it's too large for the Forum server to handle.
