I use the cream for now, after I move more of my jeep shop equipment dn I will start blasting. I have a freestanding cabinet , thought about going ahead and buying 1 of the small harbor freight table top cabinets
  2. ive never seen any cutters on FB , ive looked at several on cl . thought about buying 1 of the cutter and vinyl deals a couple of been selling to get out
  3. wow, just lost a whole reply. guess I got too long winded. But I bet u end up like the rest of us on here, u will do whatever that paying job is in ft of u wants. lol. I'm not sure what my longest cut is so far, but my sc has handled it. I'm going to guess 12'-16' . Ive lettered work trucks, vans, enclosed trailers, and store fronts. ive posted it on the forum before, but the only reason I have a 54" sc is the 3'x12' sign on my building and me being a newbie thinking no way do I want to attempt tiling something that long as my 1st project. been doing this for around 2 yrs and i have still avoided tiling. maybe I should go ahead and do a " test" 1 tom. as far as software I think that's an each his own thing. the guy I bought my Graphtec from is a diehard Flexi user about as much as @Primal Decals is with scalps 4. I have both, a copy of the basic VM that came with my cutter, and that's what I learned on and used for several months. because of a few issues with the program shutting dn on me. I decided to get scalps. I feel like its more of a cut program, and does better on intricate and small cuts than VM. I mainly use vm for things I have saved in it from the beginning , I'm too lazy to move any of it. lol. when U S and VM had upgrades at half price over the holidays I thought doing an upgrade and started using it for a week and I had the pesky pop up saying it had to shut dn daily. so I skipped that idea. that's why I feel the refurbished 24" sc is such a good deal @ $269 with scalps, a $199 program so your into a cutter for 69 bucks, don't see how u can bet that. wished I had seen a deal like that when I started. I would've learned to tile. lol. so with your info gathering, have u made a decision on equipment yet?

What tranfer tape should i buy? oracal 631/651/751

thanks for responding, 2 of my orders were messed up before I caught on the site was doing it. a rep was able to help me on 1, but the other wasnt. its been too long to rem all the details. after that I just rem to keep a close eye on my cart. especially if 1 of my customers come in and take me away from the comp for a bit
  5. Just finished these for a buddy. All eyeball. Lol
  6. its not as hard as u think. I eyeball most of mine. if I know its a very picky cust, I lay my square up there. I plan to buy the 1 he posted a link of. I'm hoping to upgrade to the 16x20 fusion and 1 of there lasers for lining everything up
  7. I buy everything on rolls, if popular colors, white, red, blk I buy on the 50yd roll. even htv. the htv I bought with my cutter was 1 of those multi color sheet deals
  8. I plan to upgrade to a 16x20 soon. as posted above , u should do well with shirts. I bought htv with my initial cutter purchase and waited around a yr before ordering a press because wanting to upgrade my cutter. I now wish I would've ordered a press with my cutter. or atleast not waited so long. I think I even like working with htv better.
  9. most on here use siser, that's what was recommended so its all ive ever used. its pretty forgiving, my t shirt press is a cheap 9x12 , heat fluctuates, pressure set at..??? and so far no issues. wished I could say that about the hat press I just picked up. hopefully get the bugs worked out, I believe would have better luck with a new lower plate. but still need something to help pull the hats tight
  10. 1st time ive heard the dryer sheet tip, I bought anti static spray
  11. well I can tell u how LOUD an SC model I while cutting. I was making the back office at the shop my room to do all my vinyl in, because being here most of the time by myself , I moved the cutter up ft and fixed an area to do everything up there . even turned 1 of this display cabinets into a dual purpose jewelry display and lighted table. lol I still have most of my vinyl stuff in that room, but glad I'm not using the cutter back there anymore. was on the phone with @Primal Decals 1 night while using it back there, he asked what was making all that noise. the Graphtec I just bought is night and day different in noise.

What tranfer tape should i buy? oracal 631/651/751

no, it does it as I'm making an order. and like I said I may have a quantity of 3 and it change it to 1. Ive placed my order and then when it gets here be missing items, go back to the order and the items not be on it . so I try and look over my cart as I go before finishing it up. but I have still had to call in right after because I didn't catch it deleted something . I didn't even answer what your post was originally about. most on here use paper tape. for. in my area there is a lot of sign and vinyl businesses . I bought from a few of these before I ordered my machine. and they all used the clear. for me it depends on what the decal is for. if it something I'm putting on display at the shop for retail I use med- hi tack clear. Finally after some trial and error i found some clear tape that can be used for wet apply. I can post pics of some of the errors. lol . in this trial and error I have tape that is so hi tack it will pull stuff apart, and low tack that wont pull the vinyl off the backing paper. I will have to look up what tapes those are for u. I still use paper tape for most my wet apply stuff . The way I do my layering I prefer the clear.
  13. so after doing what you are right now and joining on here. that was the day my cutter came in damaged, found the forum and was hoping to get answers to get it cutting. now after owning 1 of the budget machines and upgrading. my opinion is buy the cheaper of those 2, the sc. because if your going to stick with this, which I'm sure u will .you will want a servo motor cutter asap. I tell people this hobby/ business is more addictive than drugs, but ive never been n to drugs, I like my $ and making $ too well. this is also a salesman from U S explained it to me when I called in asking about cutters . I did a lil research, but not on here. and had somewhat decided I wanted the LP 2. but he suggested the mh or sc over the lp 2 for that reason. u have less $ in the machine u will be wanting to upgrade eventually. now I'm sure u could sell a used machine on CL fairly easy, but what will it bring. so u will still b losing $ and in the long run, take u longer to upgrade.
  14. while looking at it I made a couple decals. a lil different than what I'm used to

YEP, I wished I had known. don't know whats up with the site , but it never keeps my cart info, and u have to be careful and keep a check on it as you are ordering. Ive had it delete items or quantity. has been a pain for items on sale. I def get my $s worth on the their flat rate shipping.
  16. I'm currently still using the sc model. I just purchased a Graphtec. I just haven't had time to move things around and start trying to figure out how to use the graphtec @Primal Decals we were discussing the way the cutter is mounted to the stand just yest. I believe I was having issues with static last winter. I always had a ground wire ran from the grounding lug under the cutter to the stand. my cutter has rubber feet, and the stand has slotted holes . when I mounted mine I rem I had to loosen the screws to mount it. after thinking I was having static issues I ordered the anti static kit and put big washers in between the rubber feet and stand hoping to add more area for contact . another thing that prob added to the static was I was using 50yd rolls. forgot to add, if your looking at the cutter weve been discussing . I saw U S is selling the stands marked dn to $20 now. they were 69. been some creative people post up pics of wooden stands they have built. should be able to find them using the search

    SC cutter newbie. Need help

just logging on today and taking a quick break at the shop checking out the daily posts and stumble on this. just skimmed thru, so will read thru it all when I get home. but 1 thing for sure is that @Primal Decals is 1 sick puupy. he undoubtedly gets off on helping others, staying awake sometimes til 3 or 4 am to help computer challenged peeps figure what their doing to meet deadlines .Lmao!! I understand about things being posted on the forum so that others can find the fix when they have the same issue. but like last night, I don't think what was going on could be fixed/explained or whatever well enough until primal logged onto my comp thru teamviewer. I would hate to say how much time the dude has logged helping just me. I can rem a couple of times we have posted the end results of some of screw ups and the fix on here. he is the 1 that is better at posting the info than me, half the time I forget to take pics of my before and after projects. I'm trying to get better at that. with that being said , I want everybody to know several of the members on here have helped me a lot since I joined the forum. a lot of good peeps on here that will do a lot for us dumb newbies. Like ive posted before, I just wished I had joined and asked questions before I ordered anything

    Hello from Texas

I mustve been sleeping and missed another jeeper joining. my jeep issue is way past an addiction. lol. same as this I started a business of it. and now adding the vinyl to it. I have the same motto as your husband, wheels and an engine and I'm all in. Now learning to make hats and shirts for both businesses

    Newbie from West Tennessee

just seeing this, Welcome aboard. I used to travel all over tn. Im originally from western nc. last I was over on the western side was at an off road park in Sparta tn. well I see you have a press, what cutter do you have? and with siser htv vinyl you don't use a transfer tape like with decal vinyl. siser htv is on a clear backing that holds it on shirts til u press it
