  1. Hey Bear , I have not been cutting much vinyl lately , but have not been using SCALPro . I am disappointed in the lack of response from Edge Craft ( 2 e-mails ) plus I got a copy of LXi Master and have played around with it some . I have not cut anything yet with it . I am going to have to send it to SB or SCALPro .. or dig up the Flexi Starter I have for cutting . I hope you enjoyed my little bit of humor .... I did

    Oh ya.......

I am sure the clean cut blades cut better for longer , but being harder , they are more brittle . I bought up a hundred or 2 regular blades on e-bay a couple years ago for around $1 a set . . I would buy some clean cut blades if I ever found them cheap , but at around $15 each , no . BannerJohn , the administrator has posted he has always used the regular blades and has been satisfied , so that alone is good enough for me . Only the reflective vinyl takes a toll on blades , the regular vinyl is so soft , it doesn't wear the blades much at all .
  3. You would have to seperate the oval and " outline " it . Then put it back together . Node editing could do that , but not suited for this job .. on some jobs that is a nice tool . At any rate , watch the videos that Sign Craft has . If you are using SCALPro , watch the entire set ( several times ) . There is a section that explains outliining . It is explained so easy , even a caveman or Bear can understand it

    Web sites

It was a situation where something happened within USC that effected a key USC member which was the face of USC on this board , the voice that answered the phone , handled all the problems and liked by everybody . He was replaced by someone who had problems with some members etc . That guy had an impossible job replacing who he did , no matter what !!! Many members abandoned this ship and went to another forum . Some members that were less than subtle , put the other vinyl cutting forum in their signature line HERE ... many copied and the website rule was made . Everybody has gotten over it , but for awhile .. I thought I was having flashbacks of 6th grade . Some people went full dramatic and was really trying to stuff it in USC's face on their own forum . " Some people's children " . USC is the most lienant business I have ever come across .
  5. I agree with that advice , but I am sure it is insurance regulations etc that would stop anything remotely flamable from being used .
  6. Consider the electrically heated scrapers . They have a scraper that looks like a heat iron that uses razor blades . It can damage the paint unless much patience is taken . Maybe try a duller blade . The Harbor Freight scraper give up quickly ... in this case a brand name tool would be worthwhile imo .

    Controversial? I care not!

Hey Dan , I can relate . It sure is much more enjoyable putting on than taking it off . I hate to lose it because it has been a major investment .... . Was watching a show about Alaska ( some gun shop ) and a guy advised the owner to eat jerky all day , takes the appetite ( read HUNGER ) away . I am going to stock up on jerky and try that .

new to Vinyl and looking for help!

Just to make sure you got my point that I was trying to help with ... searching here is what I advised . There is probably not many subjects that has not been covered . This place is the Best , 4-get the rest !!!

new to Vinyl and looking for help!

NOT being snotty and somebody might chime in and help . After answering the basic questions many times over the years , many tire of it . The search function here is not that easy to use , but there is little that is not covered . Takes ALOT of reading . Skeeter deserves a trophy for typing the instructions about adjusting blade depth a zillion times or more .

    Controversial? I care not!

Loosing weight has been the toughest task I have ever tried , keeping it from increasing is hard enough . I hated coming in to eat when I was a kid and was very active . Now anybody mentions food and I am there . I am a 36" and don't like it . At 5'9" and 185 , I am close to being officially obese according to the doctors scale . GEEZ .. I would feel much better without that info

    Roadkill Kitty

That would seem more logical , of course every roadkill kitty ( what I call a cat frisbie ) I have ever seen looks much different . I like your signature line and practice that myself . No use in giving up a healthy body , might as well use it up as much as possible .. get as much fun out of it as possible . I am using my lap top while my desk top is in the shop .. I can't use the color selection , anybody know how I remedy that with the lap top ?
  12. I have really like SignBlazer , but it is VERY dated and has problems . Amazing it does as great as it does given the time with no suppport ( 5 1/2 years ?? ) . I recently got a legit copy of LXi master and love it . I have not used it enough to send to cut yet ( I have Flexi starter , Signblazer and SCALPro to cut with ) , but it is amazing . Faitly cheap deals on e-bay for it . If you have passed the point of where you know you are going to stay in vinyl cutting , a worthwhile purchase . All the other couple/few hundred dollar softwares are junk compared to even SB imo .

As the economy gets worse , expect that to get worse also . Drugs and the money to buy them cause most problems around here and my WV farm . When things get bad and some people can't feed the family ... that esculates .

    cant figure this out

Are you printing ? If cutting vinyl you would not need to change unless you just want to see what it looks like . Just wondering ...

    another one

Nice work , Columbia is about 30 minutes from me . I do any type of vinyl work as long as it is truck doors and 1 color ...

Ok who made this one ??

I was a couple years too young and missed that trip . I was 1A though . I have had friends tell me that in the cities over there , there are troughs that carry the human sewage into the rice paddies ... the whole idea of using any poop on stuff we eat is not appealing at all , but human sewage is even more repulsive to me . I worked at a sand pit where the county brought tractor trailers full of untreated sewage and dumped on the fields .. some truck drivers ( I operated the mining equipment ) would walk out in the " muddy " fields and pick tomatoes and watermelons etc that grew from what was dumped . I think it was supposed to be 3 years before eating anything grown in that condition .

Ok who made this one ??

Hmmm , That adds another perspective for me to consider when I remember the saying " we are what we eat " . At least it isn't as bad as the poop in the rice paddys in Asia .

Ok who made this one ??

I have a farm in West Virginia with many animals and some animals on the property in Maryland ... those conditions are NOT limited to animals and farms !!!
  19. When I bought my cutters 6 years ago , USCutter spoke of ArtCut like it was the worst junk out there . There might be somebody here who is familiar with thqt software . InkScape and SignCut was being packaged with the cutters sold by USCutter then . They switched to SignBlazer shortly after I bought my cutters . They offer higher end software , but offer SCALPro right now . You can search generic stuff and try the static solutions .

    Great news for designers

Some people actually poop in their house on purpose .. most people wup their dog if the dog poops inside . My Dad's family is from Clay County WV . When I " bought the farm " in Weston , many of my friends kidded me about outhouses etc . I would let them finish up and tell them the people around my farm had questions/remarks about Marylanders also . Of course they would ask what . I would tell them people would ask me if those people actually pooped in their own house ..... all perspectives
  21. " IF " you are on the cut window , it sounds like it is showing you the color of the text , I forget what you do to see all the colors at once ( or cut all the colors at once ) , but there is a setting . Change the colors to the same and see if it is in your cut window . Since Edge Craft has not been active on the forum or in responding to e-mails , I mainly use SignBlazer and playing around with LXi Master .
  22. Rodger

    Who did this?

Or as i would think .. that much sense of humor .
  23. Rodger

    How would you....

Hmmm , I would cut that decal ... just cut all colors in your cutting program ( there should be a setting in the cut screen ). That way the detail , font etc will be the exact same detail .
  24. Yep , complete with a blood ritual !!!
  25. Make sure you are pinching the vinyl over the exposed part of the grit roller . There are green stickers above the exposed part of the grit roller .
