Oki c711wt white toner laser printer

If you're printing it and the space between the log details is really small, have you considered just filling it in with the color of the shirt? And if it's just one color and you're doing a lot of them, have you though about plastisol transfers?

some vector files for everyone to use

cutters are basically just cnc machines that read the outlines of shapes, cutters do not care if it is filled or not. If it bothers you, just open the file in illustrator or inkscape and flip the outline/fill options.

some vector files for everyone to use

For anyone who's wondering; the files just have an outline instead of a fill, they are not "wireframe". They will cut fine.
  4. Interesting. I'm outsourcing my screens right now. I'll have to play around with the vinyl stencils.
  5. You're using waterbase with a vinyl stencil on a screen? How does that work out? Does it deteriorate the adhesive on the vinyl at all?

    Sticky Flock on SC cutter

Have you tried a 60° blade?
  7. I'm making a few shirts to list at my local gym to test the market. At this point we're doing a consignment system. Does anyone know a good template for the "invoice" and maybe some good terms and conditions (as in I own the product until it is sold and can come take it at any time etc. etc,) thanks!
  8. Alstyle possibly. I know they sell mens sleeveless.

    program blurry

Try right clicking the icon and either running as administrator or running it with one of the compatibility options?

  11. Maybe next time I'll do shirts without washing to see how it goes. I've always been worried about shrinkage around the design.
  12. I prewash and dry on medium. I include washing instructions for customers. I haven't tested it yet but I imagine if you apply HTV then wash and the shirt shrinks the HTV wont shrink and bind up on the edges?

    Vinyl On Pint Glasses, or?

I think you may need to adjust your time management slightly. Of course this does depend on how complicated the weeding is but I can bang out a dozen etched glasses in a half hourish to 45 minutes. This isn't including designing. I do have slightly different rates for how complicated I estimate the design/weeding to be. I'll prep and clean all my glasses while the vinyl is cutting, weed / mask, apply stencils, then etch multiple glasses at a time. I've messed around with armour etch a bit and I personally find my best results are from doing 4-6 at a time (depending on size of exposed area). Leaving the cream on for 2-3 minutes, rinsing (you can reclaim the etching cream, it's reusable), letting the first lot dry while I do another lot for 3 minutes, then I got back and re-etch everything for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  14. I want to get a backup cutting strip for my LP2 but USCutter recently changed their ordering policy for international orders. As a Canadian I probably wont be ordering anything from them anymore. I was wondering if there was some other brand of cutter that I could get the cutting strip for that would fit my LP2. Thanks.
  15. excellent, that's what I was hoping for as I was assuming that they're all probably similar but re branded. Thanks.

I think it might be called a table runner.

    A few shirts I did.

Yeah the sleeveless tee is definitely low. I had a hard time judging it with the large holes for the arms.
  18. Mostly test shirts. I sold a few of the climbing ones and am getting a few custom orders here and there. The blue one is both sides. I have more colours of vinyl but I haven't gotten around to using them yet. Sorry for the photo quality but my phone's camera is on it's last legs.
  19. Ive had success with carefully stacking weeded HTV on top of each other (obviously not sticky side to sticky stide.) I'd test it first of course.
  20. This is a file issue as I haven't gotten far enough to actually test the cutter. I want to print from SCALP to my printer to get the registration marks then contour cut around an image and I'm not sure I'm taking the correct steps as I'm always bumping into issues. I've been looking at this tutorial which doesn't include importing any kind of files. I have my raster image, which I import into illustrator to create the outlines. When I import it into SCALP I either get two results, if I leave the"outline" layer a fill I just get that shape in whatever colour I filled it. If i make the "outline" layer no fill no border I basically import a blank image. I can't get the actual image to show up. The only tutorials I can find are either: how to outline a file without the final cutting step so I don't see what result they get when importing to SCALP a contour cutting tutorial using only SCALP and they print objects from SCALP so there's no importing tutorials using other cutting software (like sign blazer) or tutorials that involve opening a template file as opposed to printing the registration marks. Alternatively if there is some sort of template that I can use with registration marks that I could just print from illustrator I could work with that too,
  21. My employer (I work for a sign and print shop) does this a lot with varying results. They usually do some kind of "giveaway" I guess? Like at the beginning of the year it was calenders and in a month or two it will probably be coupons. A lot of people don't have the time to look at a portfolio if you randomly pop it, but it doesn't hurt to maybe carry a tablet with you with some pictures or your website already good to show just in case someone has a minute to look.
  22. Just wondering if anyone has stumbled upon any other sites like My Vinyl Designer?

    Sites like My Vinyl Designer?

I guess I'm looking for sites where I can just buy one vector file as I need them? The generic kind of stuff. I usually do it myself in illustrator but sometimes the files you can buy are cheaper than spending the time to do it.
  24. Hey there, bought a laser point a few months ago primarily with the idea of shirts in mind. I etched a few glasses for friends for fun/practice while waiting for some shirt vinyl to get shipped to me. That took off for some reason and I'm doing that now as well! I'm still trying to figure out how to get good pictures. Also I'm aware that a lot of this stuff is copyright but I'm not declaring that I sell these, just doing them as people ask. Fun stuff.
  25. Wildgoose, Yeah I've seen some sandblasted stuff here and I love how different coarseness levels makes a different look on the glass. I don't have a garage so I'm probably stuck waiting until the spring at this point. I have 0 equipment so it gives me time to save.
