Me too! Problem is I couldn't afford to put the gas in it.

I use this one with 24" tape and it seems to work well. They don't send the cores with it so you'll need to supply your own. Mz SKEETER, Can you explain your process? I'm having a hard time figuring out how you unroll a little at a time with 8' to 16' decals. Just how long are your arms? I pull the tape to the opposite end of the decal and squeegee back to the app roll. EDIT : The little demonstration vid didn't load the first time I went to the site. I had no idea that was how it worked. Thought it was just another approller type. I'd like to try it!! I have also had good results using my Big Squeegee Cut Vinyl Tool on larger decals....One pass and done...then hit it with a small squeegee for good measure. Now this is used along with my app tape roller as described above.

pricing on some coroplast signs
express2100 replied to kylesmash's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
$24 sounds cheap to me. 24 + 36 / 2 = $30 and that's not figuring in the cost for coro or time. Might just be me but I'd be $6 higher. -
Been looking here and there and running out of time..... I'm looking for a more elegant version of a big cat (prefer full body). I'd like to do it in black and pink for a gift this weekend. Most of the good designs seem to be more aggressive with teeth showing etc. .....Thanks

I may be replacing several outdoor painted plywood signs in various shapes from 4' in diameter on down and two 4' x 8' one sided signs. They are simply screwed to 6" x 6" posts with no frames. They would like to keep the frameless look and use something other than wood. I am thinking max metal or .080 aluminum / enamel. I don't want to use anything that will need paint and I am not sure what would be the best for cutting the various contour shapes. Suggestions? Thanks.

Substrate options to replace frameless 3/4" Plywood
express2100 replied to express2100's topic in Other Materials
I took a closer look and it turns out the existing posts for the individual signs are rotted. I told him I wouldn't install a sign on those. So we are now looking at one new 4'H x 5'W two sided sign on two posts similar to the one above. I am not finding much info on the alumacore. Maybe others call it by a different name? Can you point me towards a good resource? Ok I guess I'm lacking sleep!! Just found some info here on the site. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/40647-question-on-sign-blanks/?hl=alumacore#entry312986 Seems most of you prefer dibond or max metal over the alimiacore. Is this still the case? If I use dibond for the two sided sign should I run supports on the top and bottom? Sorry guys.....just want to do this first outdoor sign job the "right" way...... -
Getting bubbles when applying layered a decal.

I'm guessing the experts are going to say it's technique. Poor squeegee technique. -
You're welcome Bam. I know how it is.....I am in the same boat you are...learning that is. I have only been at it since March with no prior training or experience. But I haven't had much time at all to put into it. Not nearly as much as I'd like to.....feel like I should be so much further by now but it will come. I have learned a lot from the members here. Actually most of what I know came from this sight as I am not one to jump forums too much. These guys/gals may seem like their being hard on you but their barks are louder than their bites. A lot of them are highly educated in the industry and have years of experience. If they really didn't want to help you they wouldn't. They just want you to put the efforts in yourself before simply asking for the easy answer. You seem willing to put the work in so you'll be fine..... Now how's that logo looking?

I like the top skull in post #10. It will look nice after some clean up. The second skull is cool but not for cut vinyl....too detailed and would be a weed nightmare as it sits.....be great for full color print. I agree with mark on your background oval. You need a lighter color to make the text pop. And to complicate things a bit more I think your text is too busy also. Nice font but go with a solid black for easy weeding. Cut one, weed it and you will see what I mean. Keep it going Bam. The overall design is looking good!

.....and this is how we learn Keep it up BAM

what causes cutter to cut different depths?

I believe your only option is replacement. -
Substrate options to replace frameless 3/4" Plywood
express2100 replied to express2100's topic in Other Materials
The 4x8 signs will have plenty of backer on the existing structure. (only replacing the faces) I am more concerned with the signs that are screwed to one individual post. I told them I would more than likely have to use plywood for support if they wanted to keep the original appearance. -
iPhone 4s Options are getting pretty slim for this phone and prices a ridiculous. If I'm going to spend it I might as well give a member the business and get a custom case for my wife. Anyone interested please post up the following info: - Case options - Lead time - Pricing (pm me if you want to keep pricing private) Thanks

Thanks Mark! It's not on dafont or urban font which are the two I usually use. Found it on a-z fonts and bookmarked it

If you don't see yourself using it then I say put a value on it and unload it. Take the funds and expand your supply inventory and equipment that will make you money. I hate sittin on things I don't use.

Remove Curved Lines In Graphtec Studio
express2100 replied to Capt'n Morgan's topic in Other Software Programs
It's pretty easy and is done on the design page.... Select both the text and the curved line, right click and choose "ungroup" then select the curved line and delete it. The text will hold its shape but you will need to "group" it before you move on. FYI....I use the Ellipse for curving text quite often which makes it easy to match the curve of other objects. Hope this helps! -
Guy wants 16" x 24" door mags for his truck. I'm thinking they are too big and will catch more wind. What do you guys think? Ok to do or should I talk him into the 12"?
-
Temporary is what he needs for this truck. I have already installed vinyl on his full time rigs.

nice work led's! huge fan of Halloween here too. Really like your light projects. I'd like to light my pumpkins with led's this year....
-
these are going on a concrete workers one ton work truck so you can image how clean that thing will be
-
All good advice guys! Thanks ......I'll stick with the 12" and work on a "no guaranty" form.
