Cool, that eases my mind

I have a new USCutter SC 34" cutter & sure cut's a a lot pro and I seem to be having an issue. When it starts a cut and finishes a cut there is a small part that is still attached even if I use text.it's easily pulls away but my thought is it should be there. Sure cut's a lot has a setting for over cut so I turned that on and it didn't make a difference. I also added nodes and it didn't help the issue, can you tell me what could be causing it or is this normal ? Wrong blade ? Bad blade ? Vinyl not tracking ? Pressure wrong ? I had it set at 100 then bumped it to 150 still the same . Vinyl issue ? I am using the GreenStar vinyl. Speed wrong ? I adjusted the cutting speed up and down from 400 to 800 still has the tags.

Thanks, Monkey I will give that a try. Last night I put in a 60 degree blade and it cut the very detailed items without issue.

. Believe me I have more irons in the fire than I do fire some days

Nice I can't wait to start making some green after I get mine "dialed" in

Appears so... If I were Cricut I would have done the same. However if I were Craft Edge I also would have done the same also. I think this forum will be fun once I learn how not to cut vinyl the way I am currently doing it.

Cricut has a nice racket going... I don't know anything about the lawsuit but Cricut has some of the burden to bear for leaving their system vulnerable.

I will make some squares and block letters tomorrow and test. The new Sculpt has overcut if your machine is supported found that on their website.

Gosh I started something... heck same things happens on another forum I frequent. OK I adjusted the blade & pressure - didn't cut a thing Adjusted blade back out still low pressure - didn't cut a thing USCutter recommends 100g set it to that put blade back to starting position and it cut with tags Adjusted offset - Ahhh now we has less tags Adjusted Overcut ( Sure Cuts A Lot 3 ) has this option - less tags Adjusted Overcut again - even less tags Adjusted offset one more time and BINGO.. I will do a more complicated item tomorrow. Thanks for all the suggestions !!! It appears it was the overcut & offset

Right now Flexi is not an option so I will see what we can do with what I have at hand. Just checked some how my overcut in Sure Cuts alot 3 was set at 0 I will adjust it and see if it goes away.

If I run the blade by hand it cuts through however when I put it in the cutter it doesn't score the backing. Based on that that do I have the blade set too deep ?

Issued = Issue BTW

Hello, I got my new SC 34" cutter on Monday today was the first chance I had to play with it. It is having an issue with a few curves is there a setting I need to adjust ? I posted two photo's Thanks !!

I figured it was the image / software.. Yeah we call it that also.
-
Inkscape seems very user friendly I already figured out how to add additional nodes. If I get a chance to cut a new project I will post it. BTW what do you folks call the final out put from a vinyl project ? I also do concrete and we call them a cast and sometimes a pull.
-
I will give it a try thanks for the tip.

Yep that looked like an issue there were no nodes at the top of the apex. How do I add nodes ? The only way I could figure out how to do it was to re-import the image with the optimize turned off. Thanks !!!

Can you put that in English ? I am a newbie what is a stray ?

Is there a GUI for Autotrace for windows ? I could write one but it's much easier to NOT reinvent the wheel.
-
You could be right I only tested 2 non color images, I was just curious if one existed. The front end GUI is simple they did the hard part by providing the conversion engine. You only need to supply the code to call it from the cmd prompt and load the before and after files.

Can the SC units cut mylar ?
-
I am in the window shopping mode right now. Since I don't have a plotter yet I was unaware that you could cut 2" size scraps. That's actually good news since we are very thrifty. I have been reading a lot and I suspect some of it is well intended but not 100% correct information. One of the articles I read said something about needing a carrier sheet for small pieces. However it could have been for one of the small desktop units.
-
Actually so far I found this to be a tad better on a few test images http://www.autotracer.org .But I haven't even purchased a plotter yet..... Just testing to see if this is the new hobby. I would need a monetary or personal incentive to start coding again. Before the recession it was VERY lucrative but not so much anymore. I think anyone that has fingers has learned how to code the competition is tough.

Once I figured out inkscape there is no reason to reinvent the wheel. A few years ago I would have but age has made me look for the easier route.

Got it ! Thanks !!!
