  1. Can for the life of me figure this out. Never had a single issue back when I had a ce5000-120. Has anyone had any issues with running this with windows 8.1? I have tried to install it on two difference computers and it does not seem the drivers are correctly installing. If I recall after you install the drivers it shows up under printers, but for me it is just showing up under other devices as vinylexpressqe60. plotter controller does not see it connected. Hoping someone has seen this before and knows a solution.
  2. LXI works perfectly fine, import and cut is all i need from it. Didn't care that much for signblazer when I used it in the past. Might be selling this off for bigger and better though.

    is this price-able?

Contract it out to a large scale place. Or have someone print them in that single color

    logo design.

I don't care for the combo of sign designs. Looks weird as signs is the majority of the word designs.
  5. You may be one of the small exceptions. Within the whole community of the at home vinyl decal makers it is pretty legit to assume that the majority of those that claim that income are far outweighed by those that don't. I sure as hell don't and I highly doubt uncle sam would ever get a wiff of someone of most of out statures failure to do so. Now when you get into larger contracted jobs when you are making good money off legit companies and that work has paper trails created by them then you may want to consider fessing up to the income. Until then they can take my sales tax and be happy with that =D
  6. Just having a state ID # and business license doesn't necessarily mean you are operating completely legal, what about federal? Are you paying tax on your income? I doubt it, just like 99% of the people around here I am sure, if you were paying taxes I think you would have a change of mind at picking the business over college lol. I would say stick with what you are doing while going to school. A lot of people work crappy jobs to make some cash while going to school, you have the ability to do a relatively simple job that is quite fun. Perhaps you should look into swap meets and such in your area, could be something you do on the weekend. Also, maybe go around to some local businesses that you think your items could possibly sell well and work up some deal for them to display or sell your stuff. This way you can still go to and finish up school while make profit and expanding the business. As you make money and learn more you can start purchasing newer and better equipment, open up your lineup of this you can do. Then when you are done with school you have a business that has much more potential as well as the education to fall back on.
  7. ehhh I will just stick with this. I don't need it for any design capability so will just use it to open and cut stuff. Did pretty much the same thing before on my last cutter and flexi 8.5 or whatever it was I had .
  8. Only gripe is the version he sent with it is 7.5 which does not seem to like win 8.1 so I now have to go back to 7 on my laptop that I just recently updated to 8.1
  9. Said he got it new fom SW and knew nothing about it. I have it running through LXI.
  10. Got 225 back from the seller. 520 for the cutter, I'll take it
  11. yup, this bad boy has a ve mainboard. Time for seller to take it back or cough up some cash. Think the ce6000-120 is in my future anyways,
  12. Send a similar image to the local sign shops and ask for a quote to see how much they would charge....... then charge a little less =D

Clean cut blades VS USCutter blades

Whenever you a) noticed damage to the tip, start to notice you have to continually apply more force to get it to cut through c) cut quality degradation becomes apparent.

This is the donated job for the vets, need help

I honestly think it would look better to just put it on that paint. The side would probably look much more off if you did only that one section in vinyl.

Clean cut blades VS USCutter blades

mmmmmm , cleancut blades, wouldn't use anything else. Don't cheap out on the crappy Chinese blades. If you cut regular vinyl and don't screw up your depth and force settings a ccb can honestly last for years.

    us marine logos esp

There is a DOD site, can't remember what the address is that they have it available for download in raster and vector format.
  18. Been out of the vinyl thing for over a couple years now but a newer venture of mine brings me somewhat back to it. I do arcade cabinets, which if you know are very reliant on printed vinyl graphics. I am looking for someone to partner with that has large format printing capabilities that will be my go to person for getting stuff printed for my customers. If you have done previous work with arcades that is a big plus. It will involve just straight printing stuff as well as possibly some designing as well on your end. If you have the capabilities and are interested please email me at jeremy0203@aol.com. Include your equipment, any previous related work if you have done similar stuff, location and any other pertinent info. Thanks.
  19. There are many many open sources in the arcade world for purchasing recreated original cabinet artwork. They have been around for years with no hassle, I am not afraid of doing stuff for people that is all handled via email/phone.
  20. Would depend on what you were printing, a lot of it is going to be custom artwork the customer comes up with. But, there is a reason to keep transactions private

Getting sick of people under pricing and more.

One thing you gotta realize though is about the most action you would get out of these companies is C&D letters. You think you would actually waste money and time sending out lawyers against someone who has made maybe a couple hundred bucks off their logo, nah don't think so(unless it is like HD/Disney or one of those few companies who will snipe out anyone and everyone they can)

Getting sick of people under pricing and more.

Yes, there are people over here with some high dollar machines. A lot of people over there though are one or multiple storefront business owners with probably at least 50-100k in equipment in their back room. But yeah I am not going to waste my time tracking down some company info to just tell them someone is selling a sticker of their logo.

    How is the titan 3?

Well no need. Just bought a Graphtec ce5000-60 for what I deem a very good price. I used to own the ce5000-120,48" model" so know I am getting a quality machine that I will already be familiar with. Still going to regret selling my big boy when this little guy arrives.

    How is the titan 3?

Few years ago I was into the vinyl thing, started off with one of those awful Mh series. Made enough money off it and got an amazing deal on a graphtec ce5000-120(wish I never got rid of it). Looking to get another cutter now as I have some projects needing it. Not wanting to shell out the money on a graphtec I saw uscutters new titan 3. Just looking for opinions from people who have one and how it stacks up compared to a graphtec if you have experience with one. Also, does it have drivers to work in flexi or corel plugins or are you stuck with the uscutter software that I have heard is pretty horrible. Thanks.
