What differences is there with them?
-
Yeah my pressure was at 30 like normal, Ill bump it up to 40 and see what it does. I have a little left I may try ti tomorrow after I fill some orders. Sucks my order said out for delivery today....but then later in the day tracking changed to "On truck to be delivered next business day" so my plans on cutting a bunch of HTV tomorrow has been changed. Have a 25 shirt order I was hoping to do tomorrow but....not now. So now just a banner and a couple 3 color decals and maybe a last ride on the bike for the year.
-
Darn it, now gonna make me try it again lol. Guess next order Ill throw a couple of feet in again.

You use a heat press. Iron your not going to get even contact throughout the design.

I just have a SC. In my experience, as long as its not pulling up while cutting....its going to cut right. Or as right as my image. Light isnt going to help me any more then that. I cut everything at same speed, 200. Used to be everything at 100 but accepted i was being too anal about my work. So allowed myself to bump it up to next speed and thats where it stays.

The space is just an outline in white around the blue letters

Just curious as to what is the need for a light on the cutter? Ive never had the need for it, maybe Im missing something. I have my cutting program set to feed after the cut to get my design just below my cutting strip for me to cut it off without worrying about where my design is.

Im using a SC. I have a small piece left so may try bumping pressure up. Its not a super detailed piece of the image. I used black easyweed to get it done. I might give videoflex glitter a try. I was just wanting to try something different to push. I think Ill like the videoflex a bit better as the regular glitter doesnt seem like it will last long before its all flaked off.

Yeah new Clean Cut 60 degree blade. Just put it in the holder.

What is the secret? I attempted Siser glitter today. Didnt go well at all. First attempt I thought blade was set right but barely scored it....trash can. 2nd attempt after setting blade right, it cut it what seemed nice and through, but when peeling it pulled up in some spots and seemed to tear like wet paper. Luckily it was for a hoodie my wife wanted me to make her, and not a real customer. Which is why it was something for her, hoping to figure it out. I only bought 2' of it to play around with and well....its basically all in the circular file. Was a bit upset I ordered Black Silver and got regular Silver instead but seems to be the norm lately with orders.

Im in the same boat. recently had an external go belly up (PG Version) and has a ton of pictures and house plans from when I was a residential architect. I tried and tried to recover it with different programs and was only able to recover bits and pieces. You can try a free program called "Recuva" it got me some of my stuff. I still have the HD sitting on my desk in false hopes Ill figure out how to recover everything off it some day. I have another one already but buying a 2nd to just make a back up of the one. Figure its cheaper to have 2 then the stress and cost of losing everything again.

I started with a $500+ (cant remember exact) Uscutter bundle off ebay. Everything else Ive acquired and stocked up on has been basically from money made with it. When I do a big job and make a really decent profit, I take that and put it towards material to widen my "in-stock".

I also started with one of their ebay bundles. I bought the 34" SC bundle. I think it was a great way to get started. My SC has paid itself off countless times now. Im saving for a Graphtec but I would highly suggest the SC if its in your budget. Like others have said, when it comes to cutter, buy the best you can afford. I still have a bunch of that greenstar from my original purchase....I didnt care for it. I use it for packing tape. A lot of people dont like SCALP, but its the only cutting software I use. I also have flexistarter10 but it doesnt like the SC memory. I design in CorelDraw x6 and send to SCALP to cut. The more you work with it, the easier and user friendly it is.

Thanks everyone. I told them about the life expectancy of it and they are deciding to do it anyway or just go with a normal pink. Its for a windshield banner so I dont think Id trust a 2nd layer like that. Probably hold up fine but theres the chance it wont and dont want it to look bad. This is going to be a very "public" vehicle.

Nice. I agree, it looks like it was supposed to be there originally (minus the spelling lol). When you do something like that (especially around gas cap) how do you trial and error it without a lot of wasted money? Or was it just nailed the first time without any question? I ask because Im working on something for a hood and have a spot with similar issues I have to work around and dont want to waste a bunch of material.

I have a client that orders a lot from me wanting Fluorescent vinyl on a windshield. Ive hunted and everything says 6 months to a year life and not recommended outdoors (Oracal, Avery, Mactac, Greenstar etc). Is there one out there Im not seeing? I know in the 80's /90's they used a lot of Fluorescent colors on dirt bikes, 3/4 wheelers and the such. Is it just not a realistic option?

Might have to make something then cause the boxes start to take up considerable space. Also always seem to need the one on bottom! I am guilty of always letting cutter pull off roll. Ive never had an issue with it though. Have a hard time accepting the waste if I cut it off first lol.
-
Doesnt storing the rolls on tubes like that start to warp the roll? Thats what has kept me using the boxes. Was worried the roll would go oval and not roll right on the rollers.
-
I have this one mounted to my table. Well worth the money

Ive got 2 shirts I did well over a year ago. and no issues. 1 was even done on a well used shirt I wore while in Afghanistan just to test putting it on a used shirt. Both still look good and both get worn/washed weekly.

Seems like a waste of federal dollars that could be used on our boarders as well as against terrorism.....not a panty raid. Like said, a C&D with local law enforcement at most would have sufficed. Gross misuse of federal resources.
