LP 2 stopping midway thru a cut
Monkey replied to Glamiskid395's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
I have had this problem also in my SC a few times and I believe it to be a memory issue. I believe the way it does skip around using SCALP it uses more memory then it should. Going to serial or keyspan like Ms Skeeter said improved things for me but there is still that instance it happens with larger or more detailed images. I bounce between flexistarter10 and SCALP myself depending what im doing. 1 program will cut what the other wont and vise versus -
I get so confused when the 2 wolf guys talk back to back in a thread lol I like the first one

Im not sure where to start with pricing...
Monkey replied to DNA_Vinyl's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Its not ebay, its the company in china selling the vinyl art at lower then the cost of material, let alone shipping -
Better feedback but says located in US but in feedback there are complaints shipments sent from china and held up in customs. Not to mention in the ad its called out as "799USD" which isnt a commonly used term in the US. IMO its better then the other you posted but still a large risk. If you have the money to gamble, have at it. Otherwise pay a little closer attention to ads and feedback.

personally i wouldnt buy from a person with 71 negatives in 12 months....41 in 6 months. a lot of broken crap and never delivered from the looks of it. Not a risk Id take

yeah i saw that. totally destroyed the market there -
No lift at all even at small scale when etching on dog tags. I learned from another member on here to lower the pressure as well. Night and day different. First I was at 80psi I believe and barely got etched into glass before vinyl was deteriorating. Dropped it to 40 and was able to spend a lot more time on it and get a much deeper etch.

Dont forget China -
turn impact to curves and grab the nodes to make the angles is what I would do

When Im etching with sand blaster I just use 631 anymore. 651 always left adhesive behind to clean up and 631 didnt. It holds up just as well and hasnt caused me any issues yet doing glass or metal.

Temperature will play a roll as well with 651 and rapid tac. It does not like to stick in that combination if surface is too cold. Doesnt take much either, I found out the hard way. I hear Rapid Tac 2 is better for colder applications.
-
For air brushing rc bodies I use Oracal 631. Doesnt leave residue when removed and gives clean edges

grabbed it also, thank you

I had the same idea as your second pic dakota....lol now no need to post a pic of it if I build it.

The blade is ripping through the vinyl and picking the vinyl up as well
Monkey replied to cod543's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
yeah its in their instructions. When I first got my cutter I printed it out. Luckily I looked up another source video which was the same as MS Skeeter's method and I didnt have the problems -
When its just text, i guess it can be cut with scissors.

Yes even USCutter labels the SC as "Beginner" cutters. and Graphtec as "Pro" in their buyers guide. Do I recommend the SC to someone when its their price point? Absolutely, mine has paid itself off numerous times. Is it capable of producing products like a Graphtec or similar? Absolutely not. Like i said before, some of us are interested in making and selling the best product possible. Im sure some feel their "Just fine" in what they produce, and have no urge to better what they offer.

Some of us just strive for producing better products, some are fine staying with the medium range

Buying the SC Cutter next week, got questions.
Monkey replied to JessXEmoji's topic in Pre-sale questions
I have a 34" SC here is an example of how small you can cut clean -
yeah mine are all from the same place and when a guy wanted a large tribal on the side of his truck, I got to looking at them and seen how horrible they were. Then went looking through the other images and blown up, same thing. Not something Im willing to sell without a bunch of clean up. Thats from the swap meet sets, and random other sets from same people.
