Blade Holder Squeeks when moving
Dakotagrafx replied to DK-Freestyle's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Discussion
last one I heard about was a lp doing this and he had a crew that had backed out on the carriage that was rubbing on the rail. also make sure the carriage is still riding on the rail -
Great job

Copam CP Series OR ZenCut Green Series
Dakotagrafx replied to odokie's topic in Copam Cutting Plotter Discussion
I can't comment on the zen but I had a copam and it was a very solid machine. I know Mader got one too and loves it! -
That is really cool

nice work Mader

software here free and the cutters will all work - you don't really want to start with a cutter that has had a lot of hours on it and in doing so inherit someone else's problems. If it is a current model graphtec or refine I would buy used but would steer clear of lesser units unless you can see the unit work and confirm it is not heavily used. copam is a great starter unit if you can swing it!

Issues with my Cutter
Dakotagrafx replied to isotel's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
The carriage is the part that moves with the knife. on the back of it near the top are some rollers that sit in a track and roll back and forth. From the pic it looks like the carriage could be moving around on it's own like the wheels are not sitting in the track grooves -

Not cutting evenly

check to see if the carriage is on the tracks -- many times this is caused by carriage coming off track during shipping -

congratulations and Welcome from Michigan

There are several old timers that still use the refine series cutters every day (Bannerjohn comes to mind) laserpoint just adds a pointing laser for contour cutting but no sensor so the calibration is manually setting the cutter using the laser

Cutter Protector Strip Replacment?
Dakotagrafx replied to TSQUIRTZ's topic in Roland Cutting Plotter Discussion
not positive but I think it is similar to the graphtec. basically a teflon strip held down by a butyl type substance. this is one area the cheaper cutters are easier. took me an hour to do my graphtec to get the goo off and put the new one on -
