A quick google search found the jkowners forum where a guy has a link to an ai file with the alphabet in the Rubicon style. Several on that forum have used the ai to create custom jeep decals for their vehicles. http://www.meetup.com/JpTrails/files/ Another guys says the font is ITC Eras Bold and then modified. He says take the curve out of the straight lines, take the slant out of the letters and stretch the result. Apparently he has done this and will sell you a custom decal but wont' share the font.

If you can't get a vector file from the org. all you really need to trace is the crown. Do a search for ANTSO logo and you should be able to find some larger versions of the crown image you can trace. It's a relative simple design, I'd suggest a manual trace. Then just build the logo with some stars and the necessary fonts.

T-shirt examples...without having to make the actual shirt
darcshadow replied to frizz6907's topic in T-Shirts and/ or Garments
windows has the Snipping Tool program that does the same thing as Wildgoose suggested on a mac -
The overlapping is only an issue if you are wanting to cut the entire image at one time. If you are going to separate it out by color then what you have should work.

New sign design without copyright issues???
darcshadow replied to ddprinting's topic in General discussion
Problem comes from not them being able to successfully sue, but them starting the suit in the first place. They have the money to start it and drag it out as long as they want and likely cause the rental place to go broke trying to fight it, even if they are 100% legal. -

I have to admit, first thing that came to mind when I saw the image was the steak house. That being said, after closer inspection it is significantly different, however it's that quick glance that could cause head aches if the steakhouse place wanted to press it. -
from 20'x20' to 4'x6'...hell of a compromise. ha!

You could also just cut both colors, in the above examples, black and white, at the same time and not actually modify the 4 vector.

try exporting as a bitmap, png, or other non compressing file type. JPG is really a horrible file type for preserving detail.

Ah, ok, sounds like your cutter, and the photos from the manual don't match up. The white bars in the photo from the manual are showing you were not to put the rollers. Where as on your machine the white bars show you were you WANT to put the rollers. Curious, what model of cutter do you have?
-
Frustrated, the picture looks correct to me. Both pinch rollers are to the right of the gap that you want to avoid having them in. Both rollers are making contact with the knurled bottom roller.

ernie, you mention you can't do much as far as design goes with LXi. There are several vector design programs such a CorelDraw or AI Illustrator, or a free program, Inkscape. Inkscape may not have all the bells and whistles of the other programs but it can do most everything you'll need.

curious on what this would go for applying graphics only 4x8 sign
darcshadow replied to Primal Decals's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
If the customer is not set on that design I'd suggest changing the white rim to black and putting a white outline around the red rather than black. -
I have done some very "bad" traces that had several thousand nodes and my value cutter handled it with no issues. That doesn't mean it was a good cut or trace, just that it takes a lot of nodes to actually over run the memory.

You mean the weapon from Terraria? Or you want the shards of ice hanging from things, as in icicle?
-
Ha! Didn't even notice how old this thread was. And now that you mention it, I haven't seen the double post it in awhile.
-
This happens a lot on these forums, the double posting of a file. Just curious, anyone know why this happens?

I think the problem he's having is finding the breed names of the silhouettes. Finding silhouettes is easy, finding them with labels is a bit harder.

Unfortunately not an option for me on my day job computer.

I think $50 is a little low, best I found is the Quarton Laser Module VLM-650-28 LPT for $25. (sorry can't paste links for some reason) The video showed 4 lines so you'd spend at least $100 for the lasers, plus another $15 or so for a power supply and you'd still need a way to mount the lasers so you can adjust them.

I've used 631, and it works just fine on flat surfaces. For mugs and glasses though the curves of the item cause issues and the 631 doesn't conform easily.

New to vinyl , looking for a starter Machine
darcshadow replied to Macon Innovations's topic in Introductions
I bought the starting pack you are looking at. And while it has served me well, it wasn't as good of a deal as it seems. The MH is an ok machine but for letters any smaller than about half an inch tall it really is a pain. As for the green star vinyl that comes with the kit, it's good for practice, but the better Oracal 651 is much easier to work with and lasts longer. -
I would think the other keys on the key chain banging against it would scratch it up and make it look pretty bad pretty quickly. But...I have no doubt people would buy them anyway.
