I've tried a couple of the online font ID web pages with no luck. I'm guessing it's been customized but I just need something close. Wife bought some drink bottles and wants me to add our names to them. *note, the image is an edited version of a photo of the words that were on the bottle so there is some distortion. The E's for example should be the same. Also of note, on the bottle the word Mouse is slightly bolder than the word Mickey.

Thanks, I should be able to make something close using those fonts.

Here you go, but of the 3 images on the page, one of them is a raster. drawing.eps

Cutting widthwise / "landscape" in SCALPro 3
darcshadow replied to C-Dub's topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
I don't use this software so perhaps I'm missing something, but if you can't get the plotter to cut they way you want, couldn't you just rotate your design 90 degrees? I do it all the time in SB. My designs are all kinds of twist and turned to get them to all fit using as little vinyl as possible. -
Why? The only think you need to take care of is static discharge. With the computer plugged in and grounded, if you simply touch the metal frame of the case while you pickup and install the card you will be safe.

Ha! Nice

Adding a card shouldn't effect warranty.

You could always buy a PCI serial expansion card for the computer, Newegg.com has one that works with Win8.1 for about $20.

ah Halloween, remember back in the day when we made our costumes.
-
na, it's ok, I knew what it was after taking a close look.

I agree $20 is too low, but $80 per hour for your time seems a bit high to me.

If you're wanting free, download SignBlazer and use it for your cutting needs.

MH-871-MK2 Acting Up
darcshadow replied to NWAWraps's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Discussion
With it starting to cut when you turn it on while connected to the computer then that would indicate that the printer spool on the computer still have the job queued and is sending to the plotter as soon as you turn it on. My understanding is the onboard memory of the plotter is whipped when it is turned off so the only way the plotter can plot that image when first turning on is if it is coming from the computer. -
How about Highway Gothic. Good enough for road signs all over the world, should be good enough for a web address. As for hating to weed white, have you tried the white that has the blue liner?

FYI, I was able to open the original .eps with Inkscape.

It's just series of triangles, circles, and boxes, recreating it would be the easiest way then find a matching font. What have you tried and what were you having problems with?

xpaperman, try running it a second time. It did that for me too, first time only found like 31 fonts, second time found 300 and some. Jburns, I like Fontview as well, but it doesn't give you an option to save a file off that you can edit and send out to someone to pick a font they like.

One note of caution on the HF cabinet, you put it together so there are lots of seams for leaks. It can be sealed up well but does take some time. For a little bit more you can get a single piece unit where the only openings are the doors. I purchased a Cyclone E500 and have been very happy with it. Very little dust gets out, and with the addition of a vacuum and air filter it is a very clean setup.

I don't remember much about it, just Google for plot from Inkscape and you should find it. I looked into it a year or so ago and found it very clunky and not worth the hassle.

There is a plugin for Inkscape to send files to cutters but it doesn't work very well and doesn't have any of the options for offsets and over cuts that you really need for precise vinyl cutting.

Opensource designsoftware with Graphtec CE6000-60
darcshadow replied to Dylantje's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
Inkscape is an open source design package and works pretty flawlessly. What you are actually wanting is a cutting program. I've never heard of an open source cutting program, best you can do is the free SignBlazer download. -
Never knew power point could remove backgrounds so well. That's pretty cool. SB can vector stuff but I've never had any luck getting it to work. I'd suggest downloading Inkscape (free) and play around with it. There are lots of tutorials on vectoring images in Inkscape, look through some of those and you will be able to do the above process with Inkscape.

Can Inkscape Separate a Vector Into Layers Like SCALP?
darcshadow replied to painperdu's topic in Inkscape
Right, like I said, not all svg files are created the equally and different programs handle them differently. The big problem with open source stuff. Can you post one of these files though, I'd be curious to see exactly what it does when I open it. -
A .emf file is a raster image, which is what you started with. I do not know the Gemini CP program, but from what I'm finding online it should be able to imply open a vector file, no need to import it. Did you try to open the eps rather than import it? When you did try the import, did you click yes on the dialog box, and what happened after that?

Can Inkscape Separate a Vector Into Layers Like SCALP?
darcshadow replied to painperdu's topic in Inkscape
Inkscape has the ability to layer, but if it doesn't happen when you open the file then that would mean the file was not saved in the svg format Inkscape likes. (note, not all svg files are they same, there is actually several different types)
