Hows this? cranberry.eps
-
Not that it should matter, but does it only do it for text? What does it do if you draw some random shapes, squares, circles, stars, etc.?
-
#4 maybe make the Ds two different colors and or have them hooked together.

Here's one Double_Helix.svg

Next time, try unchecking the "Replace PDF fonts by closest-named installed fonts"
-
Sure hope you never get the two business mixed together. lol Welcome to the world of vinyl.

I've had the same problem when scanning and importing into Inkscape. I just put a ruler or something of known size in the scan then adjust the scale in inkscape. Signblazer has a nice tool to measure something and then adjust size by typing in the lengh you want. I've used that several times as well.
-
Sure, all they are really doing with the scanner is making use of the glass box and lid. Although for a lightbox I think you'd prefer an opaque surface. Taping some thin paper to the underside of the glass would do the job.

If you know how to download torrent files you might try looking on piratebay or other torrent sites.
-
Won't help you this time, but if you do have to download the upgrade you might look into choosing the manual option and then save the file off some place so if you have to reinstall some time again you can skip the downloading part anyway.

You'll want to becareful, MOPAR is a trademark and copywritten and you can get into serious trouble producing and selling such items. Does look cool though. -
You want to look for an overcut option. Not sure if SCALP has that or not.

It's that time of the year again ladies and gents - winter heat = static
darcshadow replied to Dakotagrafx's topic in General discussion
The static build up is from the vinyl so not having a stand doesn't solve the problem. The reason you ground the stand is the vinly is in contact with the stand so the static can discharge through the stand to the ground. If you don't have a stand and you believe static is a problem you can ground the vinyl directly. Any metal making contacct with the vinyl and then a ground point will work. Static sensitive manufactures use something like this on carts. The floors in the buildings are typically coated with a conductive coating and the carts have a small chain that hang from them and drag on the flow thereby grounding the cart. -
What program are you using? Here's an Inkscape version, just did the standard trace, came out pretty good I think. laughing Buddha.svg

You could always use paper and put a pin in the blade holder. Static could also be an issue. The vinyl can build up a charge and unless it has a place to go it will discharge through the blade. Most people ground their stand/viny holder to the plotter.

I don't know about SignCut, but in SignBlazer there is an option to minimize X or Y movement. Sounds like you need to turn on the minimize X movement option. Don't know if SignCut has anything like that but you might look around through the menus and see what you can find. Another thing SignBlazer can do is duplicate tiles, so you'd have one number on a tile and tell it to duplicate the tile x number of times. There is also an option to fully cut the tile before moving on to the next. Might also try looking for something like that in SignCut.

Why not go all out and make the table a giant light box as well. -
How to layer text over a graphic and the text be outlined?
darcshadow replied to Dgaree's topic in SignBlazer
I forget exactly where it is but there is a menu option for inset/outset. Select your font and do an outset on it to get the outline you want. -
