Proper air pressure for glass etching using a sandblaster

And always check pressure before you start. 130psi is not a good starting point. I used the compressor for something else and forgot to turn it back down. 1: masking is useless. 2: etch is way to deep.

Don't see why not. 80 will give you a pretty rough finish.

Personally I use 120 grit and around 50 to 60 PSI.

    Help cutting 3M 1080

Slowing the speed down also helps with that thick stuff. And a 60 blade.

    Avoid clipartandfonts.com

Yes, I know. This is an old thread, but just dealt with this guy. Ordered a bundle to be downloaded. Made an offer and he accepted. Payed with PayPal and got the download link in a couple of hours. All cool, the link was to something I did not want, did not order and never will. Nothing to do with what I ordered! All emails have been ignored and calls are not answered, or messages returned. Waiting for a complaint through PayPal and hope to get my money back. I know some have been happy with some of the stuff, and happy for you. But for me, NEVER AGAIN.

And, set your blade to the carbon fiber vinyl. Probably thicker than the normal stuff. Multiple blade holders speeds up the change for different vinyl. That stuff is thick. So ya, you need to change blade setting for it.

    not work, but showing off

Price of them things are nuts. (new) you got a good deal, twice.
  9. Sounds like the length sensor is dirty or shot. Try cleaning it with a q-tip. Or at first try roll 1.
  10. email graphtec and be nice, they will do the same and help you out. Like Skeeter said, "DON'T MESS WITH IT!" It is what it is.
  11. I tried once to update my ce5000 and it failed. First thing in my mind was "don't do that again!" Graphtec should help you with it. They seem very good with there help. Firmware is a nasty thing on anything. I always read the update text and see if any of the fixes do anything for what I have experienced. If not, don't touch it.
  12. And probably break the tip off the blade.
  13. Don't know how the 6000 does it, but if you are going to try it on a 5000 without a cutting mat, order a LOT of blades and cutting strips. You will destroy both every time you do it. The picture does not show the 5000 will do it, it states the whole thing is new. IMO.

My opinion would be move the top text up to give the same space as the bottom text from the logo. probably help with the overall look.

    Vinyl not Cutting

Just measured a new 50 yard roll. you may be right on the storage thing. Are you standing the rolls on end or laying them down? I store mine on end in a cool dark spot and they seem to last over a year.

    Vinyl not Cutting

Going to say the strip. Could be a small cut in it and not letting the blade get all the way through. Lightly run your finger along the strip. If you can feel anything, it will affect the cut.

  25. Just remember, no line width using a pen. But ya, it does work good otherwise.
