Firefox doesn't have that option (that I know of), and it would be browser specific. I could block all pop-ups, but that would adversely affect other site's functions. I'm a bit surprised there's no way to disable it from the forum itself...
-
Could you be a bit more specific? That pop-up drives me nuts too and I've tried changing just about every notification setting trying to get rid of it...
-
Yep, I have set my default activity and do that. Unfortunately, it shows a list of all posts, not just the topics with the latest post so there's just too much to scroll through. For instance, there's two lines for your two replies in this thread. The old forum would just show the single topic with the latest post. And is there any way to change the notifications? I had to set them but not knowing, I think I'd like to change a coule. I can't find any way to change them now that they're set? Never mind, I found where and how to change the notifications . Okay, no emoticons...

I never used the unread content option in the old forum. I like to see threads I've already read. Sometimes I want to re-read them or forget what they were about. I don't like seeing the list of all the posts in every thread. Too much to read through. It should just list the thread and when the latest post was done...

Not me, not so far anyway... But this is the first time I've been able to use the new forum. Absolutely didn't work at all yesterday and today. I finally did an upgrade on avast anti-virus and now tonight it works. Don't know if something at the server changed or it was just avast, but now I can see and work with the forum. I'm just not too fond of what I'm seeing... Too difficult to just get the latest posts like the old forum. Maybe I'll get used to it??? But thank goodness it now works!!!
-
You might be right on that one. After a search, the only thing I could find was a distribution agreements between google and avast. A good clue that avast uses the google list. I would have expected a different result than blocked threats though, but I didn't write avast...

That's where I don't understand. Basically google is blacklisted here on my computers. Nothing here talks to google... It's Avast anti-virus that's flagging the forum with 50 or so threats blocked on every page. Nothing to do with google...
-
I have no idea what google has to do with the problem other than maybe their chrome browser, but that has nothing to do with the 40 to 50 warnings from Avast anti-virus that goes nuts with every page from this forum (through Firefox & windows). Doesn't look "fixed" to me??

forum experiencing some issues with google chrome
BearlyRich replied to Dakotagrafx's topic in General discussion
Wow! I'm not going to try editing that post just in case. It did post (obviously), but the page refresh gave me over 20 warnings and blocked threats and a screen full of odd characters. When I manaually refreshed the page, more warnings but I could at least read the page. What fun... -
forum experiencing some issues with google chrome
BearlyRich replied to Dakotagrafx's topic in General discussion
This may not work... I'm having no problems with the latest FireFox, but Avast anti-virus is going nuts now. Looks like there's problems with some of the javascript and php as I'm not seeing most avatars, no smileys and various other things missing... Would be nice if this did get fixed... -
ARCHIVED SignBlazer page removed
BearlyRich replied to slice&dice's topic in Criticism and Complaints about USCutter
Well if they no longer offer the download (and I think they should!), I have no doubts at all that someone else will- 8 replies

Which Serial Cable?
BearlyRich replied to prestonservco's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Not all RS-232 cables are created equally. Many cheap ones are only 3 wire. That's the minimum needed for communications but won't work for most of the equipment out there. Make sure you get a quality null modem cable with all the wires. (Disclaimer: My head is currently screwed up fighting a tooth infection) I believe you need at least a 5 wire cable that would include the DTS and CTS lines. Wait a sec, what about the DSR line? I think there a total of 7 wires in a complete 9=pin RS-232. But not that I think about it... I thought there was only one pin unused? Aww-heck, someone with a clear head can straighten that out Another option that I went with is an RS-232 extension cable. Again you have to make sure it has ALL the wires! If you have a working cable, then it will work with the extension cable... -
Thanks Slice. So if we have a good working version now, no reason to install this "version 7" over it...
-
v7.0??? Is there any difference from the various version 6's? The file seems a bit small to include fonts and such? Makes me wonder how it compares? Never mind about the size. Apparently didn't get the full file first time... And... Turn off your anti-virus while downloading this

Ahh, dot net 4.5-4.6. Microsoft's definitive way of executing XP..... That's a shame. Win7 isn't all that bad and I would "upgrade" my machines if I had to, but can't...

It's nice to know they're finally offering us old users an upgrade path (I'm still using X3). It's nice to know some of the problems, which they usually fix with service packs. Not nice to know that it doesn't support XP! Not that I could afford it right now, but if anyone has it and could try installing in XP, it would be nice to know if it works. The newer Java's don't support XP any more but they do install and work. If X8 would work in XP, I might try to find a way to upgrade...

The only time I ever found eps files that would not either import directly or be converted to an older format was when they were either corrupted or an eps file of a bitmap! Check those files...

Very interesting. Thanks! Now I wonder why USCutter's version only supports so few cutters? I'll have to try the trial version first, then probably buy it. Overall, I am content with SB, but I design in Corel. Moving to VMCut might be a very good idea!
-
Nice to see. If it supported my PCut, I would upgrade!
-
Let's see... Version 3 goes through a dozen updates. Never fix the bugs, makes other things not work, fixes some bugs, never really works right. Then they release version 4 and expect us to pay for the upgrade! I stand by my statement! Who cares about additions if they don't fix it!
-
I wouldn't mind doing the testing, but paying for it!? And then releasing a new version that we also have to pay for to get bugs fixed? No thanks!!!

I know nothing can be said... I have a small cemetery up the hill behind our house and several small wooden boxes on our mantle. Just can't let go...

Does everyone experience undercut on a PCut using SB?
BearlyRich replied to jphphotography's topic in SignBlazer
SB only offers blade offset. No overlap or any such setting... I use SB with my PCut CT900 and never had such problems. Maybe that's why noone mentions it? I can't help further because I never had the problem. Maybe make sure which model you have and the correct model selected in SB? The CR model IS different than the CT!- 17 replies

Was given a cutter by can't tell what brand
BearlyRich replied to bulldogwoodworking's topic in Competitor Cutter Help
Just in case... Unless my memory's failing me: It looks identical to my PCut, still a Creation machine. BUT as I also remember, the KingCut is different. I don't remember why though. I found this out on the Creation web site back when I was investigating my 'new' PCut. I would give it a try with SignBlazer using the PCUT CT-900 driver setting and see what happens. -
You don't mention what version of Corel you're using... At least up through X5, Corel can have problems accessing all the characters in symbol fonts. It was a known bug as displayed here: http://community.coreldraw.com/talk/coreldraw_graphics_suite_x4/f/246/t/18494 I know I read specifics of the bug somewhere, but with a quick search that's all I could find at the moment. I have no idea when this started or when it ended. Just something we have to live with or upgrade out of...
