  1. Out of curiosity, have you done a test cut, to make sure the x-axis, grit rollers, and z-axis are all functional?

Cutters are some pretty basic machines, and the tech on them doesn't advance as quickly as computers.  You can use a newer PC, but it won't necessarily get you a higher level of compatibility with the machine.

Drivers: If you're using a serial to USB (keyspan), then you will need the correct driver for your computer for the keyspan device.  A "driver" for the cutter will usually be handled within whichever cutter software you choose to use.  Is the only type of communication port on the cutter, serial?

Google says that software that is compatible with Vevor's are: SignCut, SignMaster, and Flexi.  I am unfamiliar to all of them, so I would say if those have trial versions of their software, then try those out and see if you can get your PC to communicate with your cutter.

When I used the refine cutter I used a usb to serial cable, I ordered one and am trying that as well.

is there a driver for this machine?

I would check the Vevor website for any drivers.

  3. If you cannot seem to get SignBlazer to work, you can try other cutting software.  They typically will have a trial version, and then you can see if your computer can successfully communicate with your cutter to begin with.

  4. The moderators are banning them as we come across them.  As far as security implementations, we will need to check to see what's available for this particular platform and go from there.  There was a point in time where all messages required the approval of a moderator, let's hope it doesn't resort to that again.  Thank you to those who have flagged previous posts, but because the issue is so rampant at the moment, we are trying to check the forum and ban these bogus accounts as time allows us to do so.  No flagging is necessary for these spam posts, as we're doing what we can to stay on them.  Mahalo everyone for your patience and understanding.

  5. Slack is your friend.  I always will pull sufficient amount of slack that the entire cut job can be done without ever pulling direction from the roll, my machine doesn't do well with tension :P

I got laughed at because this is one of the first things I did to my machine ... I added a reflective decal, because it doesn't matter how long I've been using cutters, I sometimes still forget :(

    Hello,

it seems that most of the threads for copam are pretty old, well I bought one for $50 a while back and its just been sitting, I kind of wanted to try it out. I've searched through the forums a little and seen signblazer was good free software. I tried clicking a couple links but most seem to be no longer available, is that still the best free software? if so what's the best place to get it? do I need special drivers? a few posts I've seen said windows should already have the drivers. Any help to get me started would be much apricated. thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum!  SignBlazer is a very good place to start. The link that Slice & Dice provided is still working (it's the big blue button that says "DOWNLOAD (34.26MB)".  Just know that you will need to turn off your anti-virus to install it.  There is not virus or malware in the .exe file, it's just that the program designer has long since passed away, and most versions that are out there have been "unlocked" so that it's no longer in Trial Ware, and you can use it indefinitely.  The down side to that is that most anti-virus programs will block the installation of it.

It would help us to know what version operating system you are using, as well as how you will be connecting the cutter to your computer.

You can find Copam drivers here: https://support.uscutter.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037585432-USCutter-Copam-Driver-Download

[Good afternoon. I would like to know if it is possible to buy a new license for my machine since the software license was lost with my laptop and now it appears to me that it is with another email. Due to this it is not possible to recover anything I have including the Key Product with your PSN. fcortes2817@gmail.con]

I would suggest you contact VinylMaster directly.
[Le sugiero que se comunique directamente con VinylMaster.]

I get some sort of perverse kick out of it. I do it for fun sometimes when I have free time. I'm weird I know.

If I need to, I will recreate.  When I do, I will rarely give the customer the electronic file of the work I've done, even though it would probably be the cleanest file they would ever get of their logo.  If they do ask for the file, I may or may not charge them a "setup" or "digitization" fee to at least cover my time and effort.

I get it though, I can sometimes clean up a logo while I'm still on the phone with customer during their initial phone call, then they are amazed - of course I send it to them water marked in a secured .pdf format. Hahaha.

I have, they say they don't have a file, but I'm calling B.S., surely they've had a t-shirt or other items printed. This image is from they're website.

You would be amazed at how many businesses that I interact with, who do not have their own artwork for one reason or another.  I often dread having to recreate someone else's logo because it seems like reinventing the wheel, but it's the same wheel without any improvements :P

  10. I have an immaculate Dell Vostro 1500 laptop available. Perfect for cutters.

    • 15" LCD, no dead pixels or burn in
    • Windows XP, Service Pack 3
    • DVD/CD-RW Optical drive
    • VGA & S-Video output
    • (4) USB Ports
    • SD Card Slot
    • Ethernet Port
    • Phone Port (because dial up , and faxing were still a thing back then)
    • I have all documentation and discs that originally came with this machine
    • Tested, everything works

The battery cannot hold a charge, however, the laptop functions as it should with the power supply.  Replacement batteries can be found online for about $30.  This machine is crazy immaculate (see photos). The protective plastic is still on the cover logo.  If you want to see more photos, just let me know.

Willing to let it go for $35, which includes shipping via USPS Flat Rate Priority. It'll just take a little time, since it's shipping from Hawaii.

Do you use Vinylmaster with Windows 7? I found an old windows desktop with 7. Trying signblazer right now, no luck though...

Again, have you checked what COM Port your Windows machine has assigned to the cutter?

Yes, VinylMaster does work with Windows 7.  Sign Blazer (SBE) - I would recommend that you absolutely find out with COM Port, and manually designated it in SBE, because auto detect doesn't always work properly.  I don't have an LP II, but I do have an original LP, and the machine that I needed to select from the list was the Creation PCUT 735.
