I've never had the need to do that. You might get a better/faster response if you post this question in the SBE bulletin board.

Is this a shameless plug??

Handling costs this much?.... Really US Cutter, Really???

American commerce in action! Good on you John! -
My Frankenstein box has plenty of power, memory and storage. The cutter just wasn't conveniently located near it, so I had to work my cutting setup with a laptop. You just missed out on a decent sale that Best Buy had last week - Maxtor External 320 GB (2.5") for $115. I was on the fence between WD and Maxtor (I actually prefer LaCie), but it came down warranty - WD only offered 1-year, and the Maxtor was 5-years. I don't use my external hard drives too often, but if I used them as much as the stuff in Frankenstien then I could definitely kill the hard drive within the 5 years

Dude - you sooo need to post that info in the business section. how much to charge is one of the most asked questions
-
Ahh, but look what a cool website you have done with HTML! Awesome.
-
cool! thanks for the info. yah, there are days that i love doing websites, and others that it just becomes this mental fart. it amazes me just how many people make website their bread and butter. i guess if i got paid enough money i would just sit down and learn the coding .. but which ones to learn first? hahahaha.

get paper app tape. the clear stuff won't work for wet applications.

What's your questions ... or does this thread need to be moved to the mature section? -
Helps a lot. Thanks. I don't consider myself a web designer by any means, but dabble in it just enough to keep some of my customers happy. My coding skill set sucks. I usually prep in FW and shoot everything over to DW. If a really creative design is needed, that gets farmed out to some of my more creative graphic design friends who know how to design for the web. I haven't really decided how much deeper into website management I want to get. It's just a lot of infomation

So I'm going to try and resurrect this thread again... Because it's fun, that's why! ^ If I could meet one person that would be - Amelia Earhart. I would ask her, "So what happened?" I figured she's a better person to ask than Jim Jones or David Koresh. Hmm ... Steve Fossett would be another interesting person. < Finally winding down for sleepy time. V What did you do over your Labor Day Weekend?

That's awesome Cody! What software do you use?

Thanks! I look forward to the day when I dive into layering. For now, the kiddies are happy with single color - it doesn't take all that much to impress 4 and 6 year olds. hahahaha.

[quote author=firemalt link=topic=9083.msg68448#msg68448 date=1219894053 I usually trim my app tape anywhere from 1/8" to 1" from the vinyl... depends on if the decal is going to the customer, or if I'm installing it wet or dry. How so? Is it better to go with a bigger or smaller "border" around the vinyl when doing a wet application? [seriously. I'm not kidding.]

Anyone know if this stuff will work on window tint adhesive too? I've tried with brake cleaner and carb cleaner before, but I then end up fuming myself to death in the car. No, I do not have all the doors closed, etc. The smell just lingers and stays on the glass for a while.

convert it to black and white like mortal suggested, but color the "gold" to white. Then you'll get the separation you're looking for.
-
Good luck. Just remember, when you finally find either your solution or a suitable work around, come back and give us an update. We always want to know how these kinds of threads end up.

Handling costs this much?.... Really US Cutter, Really???

True dat. But that certainly doesn't stop many sellers out there from doing exactly that. eBay also does nothing to protect the buyer of an item, when the seller has it a fixed shipping cost and is willing to ship to the "US". There have been many sellers that will come back and request for additional shipping cost. Irks the heck out of me. I make a point to stay away from the sellers that specifically designate "Lower 48" or "Continental US," but the ones that don't and then come back to try and get more money should be fined by eBay. Companies that are willing to ship via USPS and have a huge mark-up in shipping should be shot! Shame on them. There is no special preparation to the packaging, no special markings on the boxes or envelopes. Same stamps, same post office, same "Carrier Pick-up". I could go on and on about shipping gouging. Like Polarkiss said, we're willing to pay reasonable cost for additional shipping, but let's be reasonable. Mahalo to the forum members who have offered to be postal relays! You guys rock!! -
What are you planning to do on your birthday?? Do tell.

Would this be the design?

If you don't mind the media you use to scroll back and forth, such as all of the US Cutter machines do, and you're really only looking for printing, I would suggest checking out HP's DesignJet series of plotters. While they might not be able to provide you with metallic ink, they are multifunctional and can do color. You can use just about any font you want with it too.
