I predict that he will 1) have the nurses logging on and posting to the forum for him soon, 2) he's probably scoping out his "next ex," 3) post-op, he will really be scoping out the "next ex" and 4) be home shortly doing the happy dance or playing his drums! Stay strong as you always are John. You will be in all of our thoughts. There are a lot of good vibes coming your way!

How did you come up with your business name?
haumana replied to Rob28x's topic in General discussion
I first decided whether or not I wanted a business specific name or a non-specific name. Once that was decided, I narrowed it down to a handful. Then I went hunting for web domain names that were available and squatted on all of them (for 1-year) until I could make my final decision. It also allowed me time to apply for my tax license, business name, and EIN with the Feds. I opted for the non-specific (MidPac Solutions LLC) and worked harder on building my customer base for "branding." It proved to be a good decision since now I can add and remove services at any point in time. I added vinyl just last year, even though I haven't promoted it all that much, I have had a few paying customers and it does make them feel better to know that they are paying a business and not just a "one-man show" or in my case one-woman show. Good luck with your decision. BTW if you want to check on domain availability and/or cheap registration and hosting I high recommend Cyber808.com I use them for all domain and hosting, for myself as well as all my clients. Cheap, reliable, and great service. I couldn't ask for more -
You guys are all jerky gods! I hope to learn if you are willing to teach I cheated and bought some pre-marinated meat at the grocery store I suspect it's the very last step the grocery store takes to sell their meat (fresh -> discount -> marinade to hide the grey). I didn't buy too much since I wouldn't know how it would turn out. I wasn't successful in finding a dehydrator (sigh). So I only bought a small tray and stuck it into my small convection toaster oven. Hopefully I'll have decent results. If not, the dogs will have some pretty tasty treats coming to them BTW - I was wandering around K-Mart looking for a dehydrator when Ken (Imes) called me to complete my sales order. He said that he'd be a willing recipient of any kind of sunshine and jerky if anyone cares to share it with him (you can send it to the US Cutter offices). I told him that I didn't know about the sunshine, but I could certainly help out on the jerky part So if any of you folks feel charitable, Ken will take jerky! Okay, the lions taking down a horse ... that is just scary. Make sure you save your ass(es) Rodger! Although, if you do need to use deadly force on exotic game, do you think you could make jerky out of them Gotta ask, you know? I'm sooo stoked about trying jerky. I hope it doesn't take me too long to learn the best recipe and method for my tastes. I'd better go and see how my stuff is doing in the toaster oven

It there a particular cut of beef I should buy to make the jerky? I like eating ribeye, but I don't know if that would make the best jerky. And is it bad to buy the marked down, "going to expire today" meat?
-
I didn't make it to gun/ammo or the grocery store to buy seasoning or the commercially made stuff. ARGH! The little voice in my head keeps on saying, "Gotta get some jerky, gotta get some jerky, gotta get some jerky..." Hahahahaha. Darrell - thanks for the heads up on your methods. Yah, the shabu shabu and sukiyaki meat would definitely be too thin. MMMMmmmmmm .....Jerky ..... MMMMmmmmmmm.

You guys are horrible! I guess men probably see porn stars dressed in clothes and think "why?". I think, "Man, that skank has been everywhere, with everyone, and doing everything. How nasty is that?" Doesn't matter how much money is involved, a skank is a skank paid or not. Hahahaha. -

I think they are probably a perfect match for each other... lol.. I'm a huge MMA fan! There's just something about watching grown men beat the crap out of each other. Hahahaha. I used to like watch the Ultimate Fighter, but since season 2 all the guys are insanely immature. I think the best Ultimate Fight show would be to just let them beat the crap out of each other in the house, forget the ring. Levi - I totally agree with you. Granted they are not the two ugliest people in the world, but he's a smart ass and I don't know if I would be able to go out with someone if they were the male version town pump. -
Mahalo Jen for keeping us in the know. I'm sure he'll make a speedy recovery, knowing that he's got vinyl on the way, a mother that he loves to care for, and lot of family here on the forum.

Does anyone know if Amazon bothers with unlicensed stuff being sold in their "Marketplace"? I stumbled across some stuff while browsing for other things. I know that eBay really doesn't bother, I was just wondering about Amazon.

Awesome. That's super cool - what's up with the owl? We don't have enough here (sigh)

The one thing I have learned in this life if nothing else...

ditto. been wondering where you been and how you were doing. just remember to stop to make time for yourself and breathe! -
So how do I get on the mailing list for everyone that will be making jerky? I think my first hurdle will be to make it to the gun/ammo store to buy jerky seasoning. <- Now how funny does that sound, "I'm running out to the gun store to buy some cooking spices." Hahahahahaha. I think I'll take a bunch of meat to my brother's house and have him slice some up. Now I know that the meat will shrink during the process, how thick (or thin) should I cut this meat? I don't know if any of your are familiar with Japanese food, but they have different cuts of meat that are cooked various ways (sukiyaki (usually cooked on an open grill) or Shabu shabu (cooked in a boiling broth pot)), anyway, the meat is cut pretty thin and that could be my cheat way, but I would need to know if it's too thin. Awe man. I think I'm going to need to run to the store and just buy the commercially made stuff until I can get this all figured out

You can give Sign Blazer a test drive for free (permanently), before you even purchase a cutter.

Are you kidding me Rodger? You know that sex has nothing to do with it, it's all about the fame and money. Hahahaha. After all, doing a bunch of porn and you can be on a reality show like ron jeremy or date one like tito ortiz. Hahahahaha. Besides, you know that it's easier for the girls to fake it. -

I'm thinking that no matter how bad the economy is hit, porn and viagra purchases will be one of the very last thing that start seeing the effects. (take no offense) guys like to get their "grove" on and that is certainly not effected by the economy. -
Not a whole lot of stuff to shoot here. On O'ahu only thing is wild pigs. On the outer island there are deer and mouflon, pheasant once in a while. While I was growing up we used to go out into the sugar cane fields and (illegally) shot egrets that flying around by a nearby dump. I tried to get my dad to take me on the deer/mouflon hunts, but he said that he didn't think I had what it took to shoot Bambi. I told him I did, and that I even offered to field dress the dead animal. While that had some appeal to him, he then changed his mind and said that if I couldn't carry it out what I killed I wouldn't be allowed to come. Okay ... that was when I used weight just a little above 100 pounds. Needless to say I never went. I bet my dad regrets it now. Mahalo everyone for all your advice. One of our local guns/ammo store sells the jerky seasoning, so that might be something worth looking in to. If it's ground meat, could I do a cheap test using hamburger? Ideally I would like to use strips of meat, but I don't want to blow a whole lot of money while I'm still learning the process.

Holy Cow! Definitely wishing him well very soon.

That would be awesome! The hobby is vinyl the passion is jerky. Hahahaha. Jerky is my favorite (not-so) junk food I was told that I should find lower carb snacks, so I'm thinking that jerky is the way to go. I thought that some of the hunters on this forum would have some ideas and recipes

That is cool. Hahahaha. I've been a member for a while and never noticed that. Hahahaha. But then again, I have not needed to print stuff from the forum either. AWESOME!

+1. I learned a long time ago, it just stresses me out too much to try and sniper bids. I don't like be snipered either, but there isn't a dang thing I can do about that (sigh). Bid you max and if you were outbid, well you weren't willing to pay that amount anyway, but you can at least take pleasure in the fact that you made someone else pay more than you. Hahahahaha. (Insert evil smile)

like everyone else said, the track marks on the vinyl will eventually go away. No worries. Definitely store your pinch rollers in the 'up' position when you're not using the cutter, else they might develop flat spots - kind of like leaving a car sitting in one place too long, you get flat spots on the tires. When you re-feed the vinyl for the next cut, take the time to realign then vinyl , especially if its a longer run. btw - nice job!

Test Rectangle issues and small size inaccuracies...
haumana replied to Larryc39's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
It's like reprinting a photograph from a photograph versus printing up the photograph from the original negative (or slide). If you have text, it will usually be cleaner cutting direct as each letter is a vector itself, rather than a photo that has been vectorized. Chances are the photo will not be as clean cut as the text directly in SBE. In photos you have various shade (anti-alias), and depending on the settings of the program you are usuing, those can be included in the vector too, making it a bit more 'fuzzy'. Anti-alias is what makes edges in graphics look smoother rather than pixelated. While you might not be getting sharp corners during your test, I encourage you to cut that vectored image, than cut it again with the layout done entirely in SBE, you should see the difference then. -
Is anyone out there a scientologist? I wanted to know if it's true that Scientology doesn't acknowledge autism?
