  1. I always use Corel. My copy of Flexi is borrowed and don't always have the dongle, but when I NEED it, I have it. Good to have tools at disposal just like a Mutoh 64" solvent printer! :)

Just depends what you prefer to use and works best for your particular project. Pick your poison so to speak...

  2. I have adopted a standard sizing scheme, especially for craft shows.

6x6" or anything smaller starts at 6.50 unless it is highly detailed etc. Beyond that, smaller or detail is discretionary but usually folks don't even blink because they get to see it being made. It's an "experience" as such.

It runs up from there. Usually 10-12cents per square inch including design fees for RTA stuffs.

  3. Sign Blazer is the "Elements" version, which is functional as a basic basic cut and design program meant to get folks off the ground with no added expense.

Just like anything- if you want to do more advanced things you have to find, or acquire the tools and knowledge to do so. That is what the forums here are for :)

  4. Misunderstood? Sorry, that's no excuse to use foul language...

PPBs original post did not contain the asterisks...he spelled it

all out on a public forum.

He was out of line and should be embarassed over his lack of control.

Should he return, hopefully he will try to remember the Golden Rule

before pressing the "Add Reply" button.

I totally agree on the language, but as far as his general demeanor prior to all of that nonsense, most of it was just a bit on the abrasive side anyways.

  5. The first one is actually not all that hard, The vector'd rider only need be vectorized once, and then re-sized and layered. Then the text and mountain.

It would still take some time tho.

The other one, with the rose- I don't think that is a good candidate for vector as the rose would not do well in cut vinyl. I would suggest a different rose.

  6. The halloween file... Each of those are the specific formats for the given version of Adobe Illustrator wether it was CS3 or CS5 etc.

Corel does the same thing... with their "versions" of Corel being X3 or X6. I have Corel X6 now.

I did successfully save it as an SVG in corel and import it.

One thing I wish happened in SCAL was that the outline lines, were finer or more slim and not appearing to be really heavy thick!

  7. You should be able to use the arrows on your cutter and move the knife to a new origin, and press the origin button.

I used to have a laserpoint 24, which is only slightly different, and that was the only way. It NEVER returned to a new origin point. I think this is built into the logic board of every cutter and the basic machines just don't do this.

  8. Thanks VE! Let us know if you get up and cutting with it, Looks like there are a few users with SC and MH series cutters that are good to go on it. My graphtec still refuses. It communicates, but just feeds the sheet I give it out and that's it.

I have a ticket into Craft Edge to see if there is something I am doing wrong (very well possible here) as it seems the Graphtec machines interface with the software slightly differently as they utilize the windows printer driver FOR the machine.

Look forward to seeing your in depth review as well. Please be sure to be both critical and comprimising- detail both good AND bad as well as what you would like to see as well. This will be the only thing that helps the software grow to be better than SBE, and maybe surpass SignCut! (Mind you I love SignCut Pro!, I use it at shows when I am cutting simple words and letters often!)

  9. From what I read Mopar, there should be no reason Slice isn't up and running. Every major release has its issues. ie. reference iPhone 4 fail.

To each is their own, I REALLY like Corel and the plugins for the Graphtec cutters. SAI, the writers of Flexi actually WROTE a version of production manager FOR graphtec, Cutting Master 2 works VERY well as a plugin. It doesn't have any rip features but nor does several versions of Flexi until you buy the more expensive versions.

SCAL Pro is designed to be a replacement/upgrade to SBE- and is a very viable one once everything is working as it should be. It seems several users are up and cutting and working well with it. Also, reference the numerous issues folks have had with SBE be it ports, not cutting properly, file incompatibility etc. Every software has its issues just this one is new and needs some time to mature in this revision. Scal 2 and 3 have been around for a few years in the craft community.

  10. USCutter has been searching the market for an improved sign making software to provide to our customers. We have worked with the developers of Sure Cuts A Lot to include sign making specific features that will be exclusive to USCutter in the Sure Cuts A Lot Pro package. After months of work, we are now launching Sure Cuts A Lot Pro with a introductory pricing of $49.98. This deal will only be available for one more week:

Since this is new software, I would like some help from forum members in supporting new users. Therefore, I am soliciting three members that will promise to do three things:

    1. Add a thorough review of the software to our website.

    2. Thoroughly learn the software and its features and help forum members with requests posted to this forum.

    3. Help us identify features that should be included on future version of the software as it is developed.

If you are interested in doing the above, I will send free copies of Sure Cuts A Lot Pro to the first three forum members that publicly respond and commit to assisting other members on an ongoing basis. This offer will be strictly limited to the first three responses.

Slice- Marcus asked us to do a few KEY things...

    1. Add a thorough review of the software to our website.

    - Of the software.... not just the disc shipped to you.

    2. Thoroughly learn the software and its features and help forum members with requests posted to this forum.

    - Learning, in saying this, there will be a curve of a sort- you can't expect something just launching to work flawlessly. There are several folks who've reported success with USCutter models.

    3. Help us identify features that should be included on future version of the software as it is developed.

    - Learn the software and find out what it can do better....

    Just my 2cents worth.
