US Cutter Contest Ideas

Recommended Posts

We are interested in having a forum wide contest... This contest will feature a creme colored Refine 1101 cutter!

We need ideas for a contest that will require some serious effort... Our current idea is a T-shirt creation contest, we need a US Cutter Support Team shirt... We have a Dragon graphic that we use here to stress test cutters and it is wicked to weed out... So basically whoever can produce the best 4 shirt set that includes the dragon graphic and identifies the wearers as part of the US Cutter Support Team wins... You will send your entries in and we will judge the results! 2nd and 3rd place prizes will possibly include heat transfer vinyl, weeding tools, and more....

This will involve designing, cutting, weeding, and heat transfer skills... Could be an epic contest! See who has really got skillz...

I'd be glad to enter. Except I haven't the foggiest idea how to do anything with shirts - I cut vinyl for signs, decals, etc.

Maybe next time.

Everybody take this with HUMOR !!!  ;D:lol:

How about a contest about good manners & niceness . I vote for Tory , because of the NICE American Idol contestant Bikini Girl Katrina Darrell posts & threads !!!  I'm still looking for the life-size Bikini Girl decal  B)

We could do decals instead of T-shirts... How about a large decal we can put up on the wall in our support lab here at HQ and a mini version we could package with all of our cutters? That would be reach everyone...!

You could always combine the two. Make the contest for either a decal or shirt design for the USC staff. Entries would need to provide either a finished shirt or RTA decal AND the vectorized art used to create it. That way you could use the vector to produce either more shirts or decals as you see fit.

Yeah... We need to get this idea solidified and I need to figure out what rules we need if any .... If anyone can help me with the logistics of this that would be great!

I have a heat press, and do both Vinyl and Shirts, but for it to be fair to all users in this forum, and all customers of UsCutter, I don't think you should limit the format, as much as just have a Graphics (vector) Design contest. Your basically looking to create a design you can ship with your unit anyway, it will probably be universally used on T-s and Vinyl, so just make it a design contest, then everyone can participate, (not me, I suck at designing that stuff, but others on here are phenomenal at it).

If you want to make it interesting, up the ante a little bit, limit it to 2 or 3 specific (uscutter have a color scheme?) colors. This makes it so the design side of it has to come out, as far as creativity goes.

just my 2 Cents.

I think the 2 separate contests are good.

1 for the decal

1 for the shirt

separate prizes and that won't exclude anyone.

just my 2 cents worth.

I am going to up the Ante and have both a T-shirt and Decal contest... I have two different cutters for first prizes and we will get some great 2nd and third place prizes... Can anyone envision any rules we might need to have to make this competition fair...?

Not rules but questions that will need to be answered. Is there going to be a size limit on the decals? When will the contest be over? Where do we send our submissions? How many items can we submit? Can we enter for the decal contest and the shirt contest?

For T-shirts - we are talking the US Cutter logo, the Dragon, and whatever else you want...

For Decals - We need the US Cutter Logo and whatever else you want to integrate... - Decals will include some kind of measurement restriction.

It's all kinda confusing... Brandon, may I suggest that the details of the contest(s) be discussed in the moderator-only sub-forum until the details are finalized, this way there won't be any confusion. Once everything is decided on, then start a thread with one post that staes all the rules, deadlines, artwork, etc.

That was a great idea you had about that moderator only forum ;D ;D ;D Oh that's right I thought of that and you got the credit for it.  ;D ;D ;D I bet John talks to himself ALOT in there since nobody else but you and I was ever active in it.  ;D ;D ;D
