UncleCrack 0 Posted June 5, 2009 I was doing a full size rear window graphic and after I got the backing off a gust of wind folded the graphic and stuck some it to itself. I was going to apply wet but didnt get a chance to spray with solution before wind caught it..............First one I messed up...
Guest kenya Posted June 5, 2009 Been there, done that. But I had help. I was applying a full size back glass & a friend drove by (on his way to work) & blew his horn. I let go of the one side, just for a split second to wave back & the wind blew....... four feet of gold vinyl wasted. I recut it after work & was outside when the same friend drove by (on his way home from work), blew his horn again........ I told my husband, "go get your gun". midsouthprosigns 0 Posted June 7, 2009 Here is a trick. I have a squirt bottle with Bestine. Its for times to save things that just take to long to remake or cant while on the job. The bestine will let you release the stuck tape and vinyl just spray it down the seem where they are stuck to gether and pull apart slowly. Let all the bestine dry up and that does not take long and stick it on again!
grumpybadger 0 Posted June 7, 2009 *Dumb Limey Question Alert* Whats Bestine?
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted June 7, 2009 It's called BESTINE SOLVENT AND THINNER This is a non-staining solvent for thinning and removing all rubber cements. It's great for general clean-up, too. Actually I didn't know what it was either so I looked it up and am sharing... http://papercement.com/bestine.html
grumpybadger 0 Posted June 7, 2009 Thanks Speedoggy. I expected it was something like that.
midsouthprosigns 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Yeah it can realy help you out of a jam when your tape or vinyl gets stuck together....
Guest round2racing Posted June 8, 2009 So, once it dries, the vinyl is sticky again? It doesn't dissolve the adhesive?
C Lewis 6 Posted June 8, 2009 So, once it dries, the vinyl is sticky again? It doesn't dissolve the adhesive? what i was wondering too. i guess if you dilute it or use sparingly...
midsouthprosigns 0 Posted June 8, 2009 Don't dilute it. You have to let it dry all the way. Caution will not work on printed vinyl will take the ink off. It does not seem to dissolve the adhesive. Just makes it not stick when it is wet with the bestine
