Sign Blazers Elements - Cutting a large image in to multiple sections
skarekrow replied to Pebbles1488's topic in SignBlazer
Here a couple of past threads that may be helpful. They're not SignBlazer specific but, the basic procedures are the same; -
Kuruma_Strokes_NoGradient.ai Kuruma_Strokes_NoGradient.eps Kuruma_Strokes_NoGradient.svg The Gradient is likely the problem. Here it is, Solid, in 2 color.

C'mon, US Cutter.... Yet another Sale featuring Products 'By the Foot'? Count me among those shopping with you for years but not interested in those small quantities. Many of us loyal Customers would like to see Oracal 651/751 Ten Yard (or more) rolls on sale sometime. Or perhaps 10 yrd rolls of regular, Siser Easy Weed on sale? Got me looking around elsewhere for deals.

VM Pro - backups won't turn off
skarekrow replied to AboveCreations's topic in VinylMaster CUT, LTR, PRO & DSR
Here's a tiny (free) program I use to automatically remove the superfluous backups. http://www.download3k.com/Install-EMCO-MoveOnBoot.html -
Pressure is VERY important too.... Use PLENTY of even pressure.

As the sign designer, one should try and ascertain what feeling or emotion the sign should or needs to convey. From there, the designers' knowledge of Type Styles is used to help direct the Client to appropriate font and desired look. If the Sign Designer is unskilled or unaware of 'correct' typography and where to use different Type and Fonts, they should develop those skills and learn to use them to create appropriate and pleasing signage. This is an essential skill to rise above 'average'.

Definitely agree with Dakota... As far as HTV goes, Siser Easy Weed's Hand is the closest to Screen print I've seen. Additionally, not one problem in nearly 5 years of exclusive use.

Yes... the Engraver Module looks to be included in the Ltr, Pro, and Xpt Versions. (All, except the Cut Version) http://www.vinylmasterxpt.com/vinylmaster-xpt-home/features-and-comparison-list/

How to make the plotter "fill" a drawing.
skarekrow replied to seretni's topic in General discussion
I believe VinylMaster Pro will do the fill you want from within the "Engraver" Module. -

No... haven't had a need to fill. Just line drawings on Butcher paper or Poster board that I cut by hand for MDO cut-out templates or spray paint masks. -

Just a shout out for member mb20music for his sharpie marker holders.... I have a set from him and use them every week. I know they work in the Graphtecs and he can tell you if they work in others. Quality Product, Reasonably Priced, & Quick Shipping. Very pleased Customer, here. -
Where is it going? Store-front Window? Vehicle door? HTV on fabric? Also, at what size?

LOL... "search google ". Good one, mark. ~not sure now why I thought that was funny...~

Thought I recognized it too... don't seem to have it though. Looks like Saturday ttf

Thanks for the props, Dakota & Goose.

Not unlikely that Bayliner had it custom drawn. Search through "Calligraphy" style fonts if you wanted to keep looking... Otherwise, it would be easy to redraw if you just needed the "B".

FutureCorp Advice For Next Release Of Vinylmaster
skarekrow replied to storm2313's topic in VinylMaster CUT, LTR, PRO & DSR
The ability to adjust the text size of the list of fonts in the "Font Manager" would be greatly appreciated, as well. Not the Selected Font Example Box at the top... (That is adjustable)... the list of font selections below it. -

Create the png in your vector program at a high resolution and open in Photoshop (I'm using CS3). Ctr+Alt+i to bring up the "image size" box to adjust Pixels, Size, Resolution. Or, just adjust to the size you need and the >File>Save for Web & Devices module is a great tool to balance detail and size. Lets you compare to the original and offers lotsa options. There's a free plug in called "Super PNG" that does some auto trimming if you like the one-click method.

Happy 2 Oblige... Grab the pen tool, Draw a Path around the area and mask or delete (depending upon what's next). The pen path is vector and will generally deliver sharper edged results for this type of clipping.
