Some of my Dye Sub projects

Only sold 3 mugs so far, 3 can coozies. Just started the hitch covers and dogtags. Im using the Epson wf7110 from CobraInks. Im struggling with it and the color profiles. It will print beautifully one sheet, then the next print will be crap, and the next 20 are crap, then after monkeying with the settings, it will print great again....and then print horribly again. Ive wasted so much ink and paper its ridiculous

    I use a heat press.
  4. No i wouldn't say the wife is happy. She's never happy. Now im at the store alot, then go to my night job, and get home about 1am. So she doesnt see me much anymore....still not happy..i can't win. Then she says we should spend the weekends together, and im like crap, i either have stuff to do at the store, or at home in the garage/yard. Never get any of my home projects done. So we fight alot about her being needy and missing me....then we fight about stuff not getting done, etc. Its always something. I took her to dinner and a movie on Sunday. Well Monday she was complaining we never spend time together and do stuff....i was like "WTF".
  5. Update. Business is slooow. On the bright side i have time to do more sublimation projects to fill my shelves and work on my website and brochures. Also having another larger sign company make me a big sign for over my large front window of the store, on the outside of the building. Should be getting installed next week. Hopefully that will catch more eyes.

Wow $999 hmm not really bad if u want one like that. the Open Cart version OpenShirts, is basically FREE, u just have to download and install and setup OpenCart, and then download and install and setup the openShirt module. Where the get you is all the fancy add-ons for different features and options. The base free edition comes with limited options. Since its all open source, people can edit and build their own modules, then sell them to others to install and use. The Open Cart site: https://www.opencart.com/ The OpenShirt module for Open Cart http://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=extension/extension/info&extension_id=13924&filter_search=t-shirt The Open T-Shirt site: http://opentshirts.com/

Are you looking into OpenCart? and the T-shit module for that? I tinkered with it, but the big issue i had was since i only do HTV, alot of designs the customer would want, i wouldnt be able to do with HTV.

Yes some.....havent worked on any other sites but my own lately. Wasn't getting enough business just doing websites, so started doing the vinyl, then the apparel, now dye sublimation, all to expand my products/services. There are too many online large companies that do websites for basically free....so nobody wants to pay a local guy to build one. Last year i did a website for a local large event, a RIB FEST event, did there site and updated for only $400. This year they didn't want to pay me $200 to change it for this years new updates, etc. They found someone to do it for FREE. Of course i kept all my original artwork and stuff. Then got emails from the new guy who kept asking me questions on how to do stuff.....told him i wasn't going to help.

How do u do both sides at once. i have that aluminum jig, and the big block it came with. I have a clamshell press, and cant use that thick block, i cant adjust my pressure to accommodate it. i have been pressing one side, then the other side.

When did Conde get guitar picks?

WHY....WHY DO YOU TORTURE ME??? First i started doing dye sub coffee mugs, then that led to dog tags and then hitch covers, and now i gotta get some guitar picks!!! Thanks Alot!!
  11. Ok ive had my ce5000-60 for over a year now. For the most part it is awesome. But everynow and then i have a few issues. 1: After doing a cut and sitting for 10-15mins it tends to freeze and the blade carriage wont move. If i try to send another job to it, it seems to be frozen, unresponsive. I normally just shut it off and then restart it and its good to go again. Most of the time it does this inbetween jobs. But yesterday it did it in the middle of one. It just stopped and was froze. 2. Will it only cut inbetween the pinch roller? Why cant it cut infront of the roller? Like i said, this machine has worked great and does quality work, these are just the two small issues ive had.

    Graphtec CE5000 issues.

do u have the link for the ones on ebay? i bought one a while back, want to get another one
  15. Yep. Right now 80% of my business comes from Facebook groups, just not local groups. I am on alot of local group sales page and post examples up now and then..its hit and miss. I had a lady want 3 different shirts, each were 2 color designs. I quoted her $15 each. She said ok. I started working on the designs, then 2 days later she messaged me and said she found someone who is gonna screen print them cheaper. Now im thinking, what screen printer is going to do just 3 shirts, each different, each 2 colors, thus going thru 6 screens all to make 3 shirts for less than $15 each. Most screen printers do shirts for no lower than $10 a shirt, but they wont do just one shirt, they have a minimum order of like 10 or 20.
  16. Thanks... Its roughly like 525sq feet or so i guess. Anyway, its getting filled up, need more room but cant afford it yet. Ive ready got one repeat customer, he came in again today and wants another decal for his truck...i think hes gonna be good repeat business. Anyway this month, the first month i have spent more on supplies, storage, shelves, etc..and still need a little more. Once i get everything 100% organized, im gonna look into some local radio advertising, and with the local Chamber of Commerce
  17. Thanks. Heres some pics. Decal shelves.. Can coozie display Shirt storage.. Heat press center Apparel display racks Glass and other product displays Hat rack Weeding and taping bench work area.. Computer and cutting work station. Light table workstation and vinyl storage and shipping storage
  18. Ok cool thanks. That quote was just from a local printing shop
  19. I had an ad in the paper the week of and the week before for a grand opening...had popcorn and lemonade, etc.. Not one person showed up. Newspaper ad cost me $100 a week (x2). I just think its gonna take more time and advertising and alot of word of mouth.
  20. Well business is slow. Ive had 2 walk-in customers, total sales of $75. But still have my online sales from forums and facebook groups, that keeps me going. Just took 1 order of $130 for 3 shirts, and some decals. My insurance company made me invest in an alarm system, got that installed for $400 and will cost me about $55 a month. Insurance coverage cost me $37 a month. Also got internet installed, another $65 a month. The bills/expenses are racking up fast. Still spending money for supplies and equipment. Placed an order for shirts, $265 for a crapload of shirts to fill my shirt shelves. Also ordered another $150 in rolls of vinyl. Next i have to work on a large sign for over the outside window. Also gotta invest in some more newspaper and probably radio advertising. Im designing up a brochure for all my products/services, gonna cost me $220 for 200 full color brochures. I think they will come in handy, specially when i meet with the local Chamber of Commerce. Its only been 3 weeks, cant be expecting tons of business when alot of people still dont know im here yet.

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

Looking to get started in sublimation. Looking at getting an Epson 7110 i believe, from Cobra Inks. Need some suggestions. Also looking to get a decent mug press machine. US Cutters machine is $129, HeatPressNation has a $99 one.. Wheres the best application paper to get and use?? Any other supplies i may need to start? I wanna do mugs, hitch covers, dog tags, maybe phone cases and later plates.

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

Yeah i have it set thru the Control Panel / Printers-Faxes menu... I moved the ink containers down, from the top edge of the printer to closer to the bottom. Also i removed all the other Cobra Color profiles, except the Matte one im mainly going to use.. Still have them in a folder on the desktop, they just arent in the color profile folder anymore. So some of this seemed to have done the trick, at least for now...did two prints and they came out great.

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

Yes its barely 2 weeks old. Came with the ink installed, mounted on the right side. I have all the settings set to matte, i removed all the other cobra profiles except for the high quality matte one, and have wasted alot of paper and ink. I went in an turned the printer prefrences to plain paper, and then in adobe illustrator kept it to matte...printed one and it printed great..printed another, it was grainy and crappy. Then set the printer back to matte paper, and illustrator on matte...it printed great once, then grainy again! Its like it cant decide what profile to print correctly with

    Looking to get into Sublimation..

Ok i am really hating this stupid printer... i can not get it to print properly...its all grainy again...i have check all the correct settings, and it seems 1 out of 20 sheets it will print perfect in...i am wasting a crap load of paper and ink. i called richard at cobraink, he said there's air in the system, and stepped me thru how to prime it....i have done that 3 times now, wasting a shitload of ink, and it still will not print correctly.
