RegisG 0 Posted August 14, 2008 I have a job to fit a sign between 2 metal poles 20" apart and about 30' high. Customer/friend wants a 10-12 foot tall sign between the poles and try to keep cost down(couple hundred). Would a banner last for a few years? Or are they only good for less than a year? It's hot here in northern Florida. How long will a banner last outdoors? Thanks, Regis
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted August 14, 2008 there is no way to tell. I've seen them last for a year, and also need replacing after a few months. Rain,wind,sunshine...type of material...too many factors to give an accurate estimate.
RegisG 0 Posted August 14, 2008 Thank you John. It sounds like one year might be upper limit to expect. Then that's out...off to plan B Regis
slopchops 1 Posted August 14, 2008 Six months to a year strung between two poles. Cutting in air holes and using bungy cords will extend the life. Secured on a building where they are not blowing around 1-3 years.
SmallSigns 23 Posted August 15, 2008 I don't think John likes to stay outdoors - as long as he can come in now and then he will last a long time -- -- sorry, couldn't help myself. I'm surprised no one beat me to that one.
