VinylMaster is Changing the cut size

Recommended Posts

Afternoon all. First time to the forum. I'm having an issue with VinylMaster lengthening my projects therefore when I try to layer different colors the sizes are off. I have looked at all my setting and can't see where anything would affect that. Its also adding .5" to the width but I can see why it's doing that so...no issue with that.

Just for reference, my current project is set at exactly 8" in height. When I send to the cutter (Prismcut P20) it changes the height to 8.031" which is throwing all the alignments off. Any suggestions on where or how I can correct that? This started out of nowhere and I haven't touched any of my settings.

On the images below, the left is before sending to cut. The right is after it's been sent to cut and as you can see, it has stretched the image by .031". WTH?????

Any suggestion?????

Did you calibrate your vinyl cutter to your cutting software? It's in your cutting software.  When done,  cut a 4" x 4" square and make sure it measures 4" x 4".  Vinyl spooler, calibration, cutter scale.  Don't be pulling from a roll while cutting, always have enough vinyl lose and slack. Hopefully you are pushing the ORIGIN button before sending to cut.   If you are layering vinyl, you should have registration marks to align the vinyl. Circle, square, triangle. etc.

it looks like the .031 might be attributed to line thickness.  The two pics of the turkey have different line weights.
