cutting different sizes than program

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am new in the sign business.  I have the Refine 721, which I have had for only a few days.  I am using SignCut X2 with Inkscape for design. I have it connected with USB.

First question is:  Is the Refine 721 a 90 degree or a 0 degree rotation?

Second question is:  I have lettering that in Inkscape is 22 inches long.  After importing to Signcut it is 22 inches long.  After cutting it is measuring 24 inches.

Another example:  Cutting a 6.5 inch word.  Twice it cut at 6.5 inches, once it cut at 7 inches.

I feel that there should be more precision than this.

Any thoughts or sugestions?

Thanks for all your help!

I have not heard of this one yet. Make sure you are using the latest version of SignCut....version 2.16. It can be downloaded from our site under Downloads then under Drivers.

Hi,

it happens that the plotters are not calibrated and that is likely what you have found.

There is a calibration ability that you reach from the cutter dialog,

Cut out a rectangle in a certain size.

Measure it and implement the measurements.

It is done.

Now. test to cut or draw a larger object. If there is still some abbreviation you may should adjust  a little bit more?
