BlueLine GraphFX 0 Posted December 24, 2019 Sorry for such a newbie question but, how/can I fill an object (.jpg) with another (.jpg) example: I have a .jpg of a dog and want to fill it with an American flag .jpg I tried tracing the dog then fill with object (Flag.jpg). All it did was fill the outline with the flag. lol I need the inside filled.
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted December 24, 2019 Here is a recent post that has more details of what you are wanting to do You will need your outline object which you have from your trace. Then it's basically the same thing as these folks were talking about.
BlueLine GraphFX 0 Posted December 24, 2019 Every time I try this It either cut the square of the flag out of my "Goat" or it puts the flag on the outline itself!
Wildgoose 4,200 Posted December 25, 2019 make sure your top object is no longer a jpg image. You said you traced it out. Then make sure the image you want to trap inside the shape is below the layer your trace is. In vector art there are basically layers of things. You can move them up or down in the stack of things. I would add some solid fill to the trace to make sure that it is covering the lower layer. I am an Adobe Illustrator guy and not very good in VM so am not a lot of help. Most vector programs can do this but each calls it a different thing and each goes about getting from point A to point B a little differently.
BlueLine GraphFX 0 Posted December 27, 2019 Adobe is much more advanced/powerful then VM in the design dept. I will give your suggest a try. Thanks for the replies! Hope your Holidays were good!
