Bigk_54 7 Posted June 1, 2017 So I'm a rookie here, I have an SC 24" and a guy asked me to cut some numbers for his race car. I'm looking at using Oracal 751 (Open to other options as well) but I'm looking for recommendations on speed and pressure that works well on the 751 vinyl. Do I still use a 45* blade? thank you! MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted June 1, 2017 There is not any set in stone numbers, for cutting. Each cutter is different, even the same model It is all trial and error. ..First you have to set your blade correctly, This is how. To start with, you should set your blade depth correctly, by taking the blade holder out of the machine, and firmly cut across a piece of scrap vinyl, you will be cutting. You should only be cutting the vinyl and barely a mark on wax paper backing, Adjust blade to get there, You should barely see or feel the blade tip out of the blade holder. Then put the blade holder back in machine, and use the force of the machine to get there, same results, only cutting the vinyl and barely a mark in wax paper backing. Cut slow until you learn your machine.

Yes, you only need a 60˚ blade when cutting thick material like cardstock or reflective vinyl and also if you are cutting really small. Yes, go with Oracal 751 for vehicle graphics. Bigk_54 7 Posted June 1, 2017 Awesome thank you for responses! Glad you mentioned small items for 60* blade I must have missed that somewhere
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted June 1, 2017 Many people on here use a 60 degree blade for all sign vinyl. It does not hurt a thing.... I do. I cut large and small detailed designs. I never have problems with cuts. Blades are the same price at my supplier and I can mix 45 and 60 degree in 1 order.
